Swerve Strickland AEW heel turn on Kenny Omega

Following on from their intense promo segment and brawl the previous week, the match was an intense one and was ultimately won by Strickland.

After the bell however, Strickland decided to continue his attack on Omega – choking him out with a chain and ultimately putting him through the Dynamite commentary table with a Vertebreaker.

As confirmed during the February 21 AEW Collision, Strickland was fined $100,000 for his actions, but rather than address the sanction placed upon him, Strickland has taken to Twitter to reveal exactly when he decided upon Omega’s fate.

Sharing a picture of the immediate aftermath of Omega slapping him around the face during their face-off on the February 11 AEW Dynamite, Strickland posted on Twitter:

This was the moment I knew what I had to do

Strickland’s first post after the attack featured Omega’s name on his hit list, along with other members of The Elite: The Young Bucks and “Hangman” Adam Page – who he has previously taken out in the past.
