Stephanie Vaquer has addressed her decision to vacate the WWE NXT Women’s North American Championship.
In what was a surprising turn of events to open last night’s WWE NXT (April 1), Stephanie Vaquer announced that she was relinquishing one of her two championship belts – that being the Women’s North American Championship.
While she still holds the NXT Women’s Championship heading into Stand & Deliver on Saturday, April 19 – Caquer has now taken to Twitter to properly address her decision.
Suggesting she made the decision for the betterment of the NXT women’s division, Vaquer wrote:
I have proven that I am a tireless warrior but a true leader does not only seek personal glory, but finds strength in sacrifice for the well-being of the people he leads.
As announced by NXT General Manager Ava during the opening segment to last night’s show, Vaquer has the opportunity to choose her own challenger for the NXT Women’s Championship at Stand & Deliver.
The two apparent front runners for that spot – Jordynne Grace and Jaida Parker will face off with each other on next Tuesday’s NXT (April 8).
Meanwhile the new NXT Women’s North American Champion will be determined via a six-way ladder match, with both ZARIA and Kelani Jordan qualifying for the match thus far.
