A recently released WWE star has revealed scrapped plans for a stable breakup and singles match prior to their departure.

Earlier this year, WWE NXT star Duke Hudson was released from the company following the break up of the Chase U faction on NXT television.

Duke joined Chase U after former member Bodhi Hayward had been released from the company, but Duke’s time with the group was only intended to be short term.

Speaking to That Sweet Pop, Duke noted that he was originally set to turn on Chase to set up a match between he and Chase at Stand & Deliver in 2023, which didn’t end up happening.

Duke instead teamed with Chase, Thea Hail and Tyler Bate to face the Schism in an eight-person tag match.

He said:

“They had Bodhi and Thea at the time, they kind of wrote Bodhi off and put me in his place, and it was only meant to be a very short run of me in Chase U.

“I think I was meant to turn on him… they kept postponing it, and I think from memory it was meant to be me (vs) Chase at Stand & Deliver, but that ended up being the Gacy (eight-person tag) match.”

A new version of Chase U recently formed with Uriah Connors and Kale Dixon on NXT television.
