One of the benefits of this partnership between AEW and New Japan Pro Wrestling will be the use of New Japan’s Young Lions in AEW. Well, we are now getting the first case of this as Ren Narita will compete on AEW Dark tonight.
The announcement was made earlier today that Narita will take on Royce Isaacs on the show. This will be Narita’s first match for AEW, having made his debut last week as the second for Yuji Nagata.

Ren Narita is one of the Young Lions currently on excursion. If you don’t know what that means, it is when New Japan’s Young Lions graduate from their initial training and leave Japan to work for other promotions before returning as a star performer.
Narita began his excursion to New Japan’s LA Dojo in 2019, a move that has seen him compete on NJPW Strong of late.
Royce Isaacs has been competing in AEW of late, having matches on AEW Dark and AEW Dark: Elevation. Isaacs also made his New Japan debut recently, teaming with Jorel Nelson to defeat Jordan Clearwater and Misterioso on NJPW Strong.
