A new WWE star has made their in-ring debut for the company after their signing was confirmed a number of months ago.
Earlier this year, WWE officially announced the signings of Canadian Judoka Shady Elnahas, Austrian Judoka Aaron Fara, and South African discus thrower Francois Prinsloo.
Elnahas, Fara and Prinsloo have all been seen on NXT TV following their signings in the usual background roles as security guards on the show, along with many of the other recruits who haven’t debuted yet.
In news coming out of last night’s September 9 NXT, Elnahas was in action in a dark match before the live televised show went on the air.
Elnahas picked up the win in his match against Brooks Jensen.
This appears to mark Elnahas’ first WWE match on record since signing with the company.
Elnahas, 27, was born in Egypt but moved to Canada at the age of 12, going on to represent Canada in Judo at the Tokyo 2020 and Paris 2024 Olympic Games.
He’s the reigning Pan-American Games champion and Commonwealth Games champion in Judo at 100 kg or less.
