An update has emerged on the new WWE commentary arrangements, specifically for Raw coming out of tonight’s September 8 episode.
For SmackDown this past Friday, Michael Cole and Corey Graves called the show after they’d been the Raw team for the past couple of months as Pat McAfee took a break following Money in the Bank.
Cole announced at that point that he and Graves would be the SmackDown team for the next couple of months, but didn’t say anything regarding Raw.
The usual SmackDown team had been Joe Tessitore and Wade Barrett, but with college football season starting, Tessitore is seemingly unavailable now on Friday nights.
Also, over the weekend, Barrett revealed that he’s taking some time off that he requested nine months ago.
As for tonight’s WWE Raw, the team calling the show was Tessitore and Graves, although Tessitore noted they only have “a couple of Raws together.”
Pat McAfee returns to WWE at Wrestlepalooza on September 20, although it’s unknown if that means he’ll be back full-time or just for that show since it’s in Indianapolis.
We’ll keep you posted as further updates emerge.
