Kenny Omega has opened up about his involvement in the Street Fighter 6 video, revealing that a fellow AEW star had to sit out briefly.
As previously reported, Kenny Omega did motion capture for the character of Alex in Street Fighter 6, including bringing a variation of his One Winged Angel to the video game franchise.
In a recent interview, Omega gave insight into the motion capture process, which saw him deliver the ‘Omega Wing Buster’ to fellow AEW Michael Nakazawa a number of times.
Speaking to IGN for Fan Fest 2026, Omega was asked about the mocap session and was asked how many times he had to ‘dump Michael Nakazawa on his head’, saying:
“So many to the point where he had to sit out for a second.
“Those mats that we are performing on there, there’s next to nothing there. It’s really hard.
“And, I wanted it to look hard, because if they put a huge crash pad underneath us, I would have lost my footing, it wouldn’t have looked good.
“Nakazawa, he’s not a complainer. He’ll take anything. He won’t complain about strikes, he won’t complain about taking any bumps, but when you have to do a thing fifteen or twenty times, it catches up with you, so we had to sub him out.”

Omega would reveal that a contortionist who was part of the mocap team would replace Nakazawa, with the session continuing, and Omega stating:
“I just felt terrible, because this guy isn’t a wrestler. I know he’s flexible, but let’s just do one really good one so that we can just like wrap it.
“I think I gave him like the most devastating One Winged Angel of my entire career, and I think that’s the one they went with.
“So, I felt bad for him, but he was, in the end, happy that that was the take that they used.”

Omega would also reveal how his involvement in Street Fighter 6 came about, with the whole discussion revolving around a misunderstanding on the AEW star’s part.
While Omega will feature in the video game, Cody Rhodes and Roman Reigns are set to grace the big screen in the latest live-action movie adaptation of Street Fighter later this year.
