WWE star Jacob Fatu has shared an update on his plans and main feud heading into WrestleMania 42.
On the road to WrestleMania 42 on April 18-19, Jacob Fatu and Drew McIntyre have been tied to one another, with McIntyre costing Fatu his Elimination Chamber qualifier, and Fatu interfering in McIntyre’s WWE Title defense against Cody Rhodes, which ultimately saw McIntyre lose the gold.
Speaking with Esteban Ramirez, Jacob Fatu emphasised that this feud is about maintaining his reputation as one of the baddest men in WWE.
Stating that he was in a similar position ahead of last year’s WrestleMania 41, Fatu noted:
“As a man, I’ve got a reputation to hold onto. You sit here, you see me smile and all that, but let’s keep it 100, brother.
“There’s no build-up, this is the same thing that happened last year. I didn’t even know I had a match last year at WrestleMania, shout-out to Knight. But man, coming in this year, this ain’t no build-up.
“You see me smile, but brother, I’m one of the coldest cats. I didn’t just get this, this ain’t just ‘Oh my life was hard, I made it. I made a change, I’m here, I’m happy.’ Man, hell no, it ain’t that easy.
“Drew has been here. Drew’s accomplished a whole lot. Drew’s a fighter, and Drew’s one of the baddest men, okay, I get that. But don’t get it twisted, man. Jacob Fatu is in that same damn conversation.
“I’ve got something to hold up. I don’t lose, and when I mean that, I’m talking about being one of the baddest cats. Drew’s one of the baddest cats. Somebody is going to lose.”

Addressing his legacy, the former WWE US Champion continued:
“Let’s keep it 100, man, I want to be so for real with this. I mean, hell, man, it’s to the point where the company even knows. I will get released over this s**t, you know what I mean? They got to feel me on this.
“One of us is going to lose, and it for sure in hell is not going to be me.
“When you talk about Jacob Fatu, you ain’t gonna talk about me (like) ‘He’s just one of the cousins. Oh that’s Roman’s cousin.’ Hell no. You’re gonna remember me for my work, and passion, and everything else that I’ve got. So when you talk about Drew, it’s just on sight.”

Amid speculation about potential additions to the announced WWE Championship match, Fatu indicated that he and McIntyre aren’t fighting to be added to Cody Rhodes vs Randy Orton.
Explaining why his match against McIntyre won’t need any bells or whistles, Fatu concluded:
“This has nothing to do with the title. This has nothing to do with being part of the main event. This ain’t got nothing to do with none of that.
“This has something to do with the baddest cats. We don’t need no stipulation on the match. I don’t need to wrestle for no title, okay? It’s just day by day and on sight with it.”

While Jacob Fatu vs Drew McIntyre hasn’t officially been announced for WrestleMania 42, Fatu’s comments – and both stars directly costing each other main event spots – make it seem an almost-certainty.
While arguments could be made for both Fatu and McIntyre needing the victory in this match, a win for the Samoan Werewolf could solidify him as a main eventer.
With the WWE main event in need of a refresh following the retirements of John Cena and AJ Styles, and with several top names out with injuries, now would be a great time to propel Jacob Fatu to superstardom.
