WWE's JACOB FATU and Jelly Roll

Jacob Fatu has revealed an amazing gesture made by Jelly Roll after a day of in-ring training at the WWE Performance Center in Orlando, Florida.

Seven months on from his in-ring debut at WWE SummerSlam 2025, Grammy award winning country artist Jelly Roll will compete once again on next Friday’s SmackDown on March 27.

After their scathing back-and-forth “Slam Poetry” battle on this past Friday’s episode of SmackDown, Jelly will go one-on-one with Kit Wilson, with many fans anticipating that a WrestleMania 42 match could be on the cards for the celebrity afterwards.

In preparation for his first match in WWE at last year’s SummerSlam, Jelly Roll trained with a variety of stars on the roster such as Kevin Owens and Jacob Fatu at the Performance Center in Orlando, and Fatu has now opened ip about his experience working with the country star.

Speaking with Bootleg Kev, Fatu heaped praise on Jelly Roll’s work ethic and the “love and passion” he showed for the pro wrestling industry, something that was evident through his actions one day after a training session at the WWE PC.

According to Fatu, Jelly Roll voluntarily “cleaned the whole ring” after a training session, and did so without making a scene or drawing attention to himself.

“You see cats come in all the time and just get it in. You seen the transformation in him. But it was more than that.

“When I got out the ring with this guy, and it wasn’t just me, shout out to Stacks, and the other homie. But it was what he did after. When you get done training, you gotta clean the ring, sweep it, spray it down. We all sweaty up in there.

“And I seen this man, he went up to the homie and said, ‘Nah, nah, nah, nah, let me clean it. Tell me what I gotta do.’ And he’s not making a scene about it…

“Bro just cleaned up the whole ring. Did what he had to do, wiped his feet, but also (I) seen the love and the passion.

“Professional wrestling, that’s what I love about this, not only because my family’s in it. But what I seen, what I love about it is professional wrestling brings different colors, different cultures, different backgrounds… Professional wrestling brings us all together.”

Jelly Roll’s WWE WrestleMania 42 Opponent

With WWE announcing that Jelly Roll will be competing against Kit Wilson ahead of WrestleMania 42, it seems likely that any WrestleMania match involving the 41-year-old will feature some other members of the roster.

In recent weeks we have seen Wilson align himself with The Miz, however Miz has been preoccupied by the “Curse” Danhausen placed on him back on the March 6 episode of SmackDown.

With Danhausen yet to compete in WWE since debuting at Elimination Chamber, it seems like a tag team match pitting Danhausen and Jelly Roll against Kit Wilson and The Miz could be one route for “The Grandest Stage of Them All.”

Jelly has also been involved in Randy Orton’s recent heel turn storyline, attempting to get through to “The Viper” and dissuade him from listening to the “voices” in his head, so perhaps his WrestleMania involvement could come via a non-wrestling role in Orton’s Undisputed WWE Title match with Cody Rhodes at WrestleMania 42.
