WWE’s IYO SKY has opened up on her friendship and chemistry with Rhea Ripley following their Women’s Tag Team Championship victory.
Ever since their clash at WWE Evolution last year, Rhea Ripley and IYO SKY have formed an alliance on WWE television, which led to the team dubbed RHIYO winning the Women’s Tag Team Championship from the Kabuki Warriors on January 5.
Rhea and IYO have been intertwined in their WWE careers since their time together in NXT, and IYO has now opened up on their friendship.
Speaking to Denise Salcedo, she said:
“We’ve been friends since I joined NXT which is 2018, and now 2026 so it’s been 8 years. She’s always been next to me, even in front of me, against, but also a tag team.
“But we had so much history in NXT, that’s why we are here, why not? We are friends, we could be friends in the ring too.
“I respect her so much, she’s such a big star, she’s total package. Also she is such a great personality too. She always helped me, she was always kind to everybody including me myself.
“She’s an amazing person so that’s why I respect also. Also she’s strong, she’s always in good condition. She’s an amazing wrestler, I trust her, she’s amazing, and maybe she trusted me, my wrestling ability, so that’s why I hit her strong and I know she will get up, and she knows I will get up when she hits me strong, so that’s why we make great chemistry in the ring.”
