Cody Rhodes Says AEW Star Will Become Champion

It was reported earlier today that AEW star Ricky Starks had recently suffered a neck injury. The injury came during Starks’ recent match against Hangman Page and he will be out of action for several months.

Now, Cody Rhodes has given Starks a major endorsement, saying he will be champion one day. He also added that he would bet everything on it, a sentiment that was shared by WWE star Bayley.

Ricky Starks made his debut for AEW as part of Rhodes’ TNT Championship open challenge last year. This match has been called a tryout by both Starks and Tony Khan and he was signed almost on the spot. Since then, he has been part of Team Taz, often teaming with Brian Cage or Powerhouse Hobbs.

Starks appeared to be heading towards a feud with Cage as friction had started to appear among the Team Taz partners. Whether that potential rivalry will now be put on hold or not remains to be seen.
