A championship match has been announced for WWE Raw’s premiere on Netflix on January 6.
Just under three weeks prior to WWE Raw’s historic move to Netflix, the company held a Kickoff event at WWE HQ in Stamford, CT.
The event saw appearances from CM Punk, Seth Rollins and brand new WWE Raw roster member Logan Paul to name a few, but Paul signing with the red brand was not the only big announcement to be made at the show.
With Rhea Ripley and WWE Women’s World Champion Liv Morgan joining Michael Cole, Triple H and Adam Pearce on stage for the event, Pearce made the announcement that Ripley and Morgan would settle their differences in a Women’s World Title match on January 6.
This announcement follows Ripley revealing on Monday’s Raw that she was now officially the new number one contender for Morgan’s title, but at the time no date for that match was announced.
Being forced to vacate her Women’s World Championship back in April, Ripley returned to WWE action in July but failed in her attempts to dethrone Morgan at SummerSlam and Bad Blood, with thanks to Dominik Mysterio and Raquel Rodriguez.
Also announced for WWE Raw’s Netflix premiere is ‘Tribal Combat’ between Roman Reigns and Solo Sikoa, as well as CM Punk vs. Seth ‘Freakin’ Rollins.
