A WWE return appearance for ‘The Glorious’ Bobby Roode has been announced after a few years away from television.
Roode’s last match in WWE came in June 2022 at a live event against Omos – with his last televised match being the 2022 Andre The Giant Memorial Battle Royal a couple of months before that.
Roode then underwent neck surgeries, and has since transitioned into backstage producer role, often working alongside Michael Hayes on some of WWE’s biggest matches, segments and storylines.
In 2016, after a highly successful decade-plus tenure with TNA, Roode signed with WWE and joined NXT, going on to become NXT Champion with a reign lasting over 200 days.
Tonight, NXT returns to its original home of Full Sail University, where its shows were held from 2012 to 2020, for NXT Homecoming.
Numerous returns from stars of the Full Sail era are set for the show, including Tyler Breeze, DIY, Rhea Ripley, Charlotte Flair and Alexa Bliss.
As announced by WWE, Bobby Roode will also be returning tonight, which will mark his first official WWE appearance in three years, not counting the times he may have briefly appeared on-screen in his producer role.
In addition to being a former NXT Champion, Roode is also a former WWE United States Champion, and a three-time Tag Team Champion – once with Chad Gable, and twice with Dolph Ziggler.
WWE has also newly confirmed another few names who’ll be returning to Full Sail tonight are Bianca Belair, Sami Zayn and Mr William Regal.
In a late change to the card, Lyra Valkyria replaces Tiffany Stratton due to injury, so Valkyria now teams with Rhea Ripley and Stephanie Vaquer against Fatal Influence.
