Following recent news about his WWE contract and future, AJ Styles made some interesting comments during tonight’s episode of Raw.
Styles sparked some speculation a couple of days ago when he posted a sand timer counting down and the caption “Time is not up yet.”
Styles has said in the past that the current WWE contract he’s working on would be his last as a full-time wrestler, and there are seemingly only a few months remaining.
Ahead of his match against El Grande Americano tonight, Styles cut a promo in the ring during the commercial break.
Styles framed it as something he wasn’t supposed to be saying, and the fact it was during the commercials helped with that illusion as well.
He essentially said that somebody in the company doesn’t want him there and doesn’t want him to succeed, and has put him in a position where he can’t do so.
He said:
“For the first time in my career, I’ve got no-one watching my back. Gallows, Anderson, they’re not here. Michin, she’s on SmackDown.
“It’s like someone orchestrated a way for me not to win anymore. Not to have help. I’ll let you make your own conclusions.
“By the way, we are here right now and all over the world, but everybody is in a commercial break, I’m telling you something that you’re probably not supposed to hear.
“But somebody doesn’t want me here.
“So what we’re gonna do is we’re gonna beat the piss out of Grande Americano tonight, so that the person that doesn’t want me here anymore can feel a little bit of his pain and mine also.”

Styles picked up the win over El Grande Americano tonight, after Dragon Lee came out to help even the numbers since Americano had the second Americano helping him.
For scorekeeping’s sake, El Grande Americano is currently portrayed by Ludwig Kaiser, and the second Americano is Pete Dunne. There was no sign of the third Americano from a few weeks ago, Tyler Bate, tonight.
The original El Grande Americano, Chad Gable, is still out due to surgery.
We’ll keep you posted with any further updates on Styles’ WWE future as they emerge.
