An AEW star has commented after suffering a scary landing during the February 18 episode of Dynamite in Sacramento, California.
Last night’s AEW Dynamite saw Willow Nightingale defend her TBS Championship in a four-way against Marina Shafir, Mina Shirakawa and Megan Bayne.
During what was her second title defense since ending Mercedes Moné’s 584 day run, Nightingale delivered a top rope German Suplex to Bayne which resulted in a nasty-looking face-first landing for “The Megasus.”
Posting to Twitter in reaction to the spot, Bayne confirmed that she’s ok, but Nightingale will “pay for her sins” as a result:
I’m the Megasus. I don’t feel pain
but don’t worry she will pay for her sins
Nightingale ultimately won the match by pinning Mina Shirakawa, ensuring that she continues her run as a double-champ in AEW – holding both the TBS and AEW Women’s Tag Team Titles.
Elsewhere on AEW Dynamite, Swerve Strickland turned heel after attacking Kenny Omega following his win over “The Cleaner” in the show’s main event – click here for Strickland’s first comments since the turn.
