Jon Moxley has revealed his objective of getting a major championship run in what would be his third major company.

Moxley was recently in Japan for NJPW Strong Independence Day on July 4 and 5 at Korakeun Hall in Tokyo.

Night one of the two-night event would see him team with Homicide in a Doomsday No Disqualification match that would see the pair lose to El Desperado & Jun Kasai.

July 5 would bring a Final Death match to the iconic venue with Moxley defeating El Desperado.

Moxley would speak to Tokyo Sports, revealing his future plans in New Japan, saying:

“I’ve become WWE & AEW Champion, but I haven’t become the IWGP Champion yet. I don’t think there’s anyone out there who’s won all three?

“If I’m going to fight SANADA, I have an image of myself as the IWGP World Champion, so it might be interesting.”

Moxley’s match on the first night of Independence Day saw a gruesome spot involving chopsticks in a bloody match.

SANADA won the IWGP World Heavyweight Champion at NJPW Sakura Genesis in April 2023.

He would also appear at AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door, facing and defeating Jack Perry in a match that came close to being the shortest IWGP title match on record.

The match set up Perry’s heel turn with Jungle Boy attacking HOOK after the match.
