WWE star to receive push from Triple H: Three mid-card talents that could be set for main event run

WWE CCO Triple H

The WWE roster has an abundance of talent across Raw and SmackDown, making competition for spots at the top of the card incredibly fierce.

But with a new year on the horizon there could also be new opportunities opening up in the main event picture, and a handful of names appear poised to potentially have their own breakout moment.

Here are three mid-card WWE stars that could be set for a main event run:

Chad Gable

After almost exactly three months as Intercontinental Champion, Chad Gable dropped his title to “All Ego” Ethan Page during this past Monday’s episode.

Gable wasn’t quite at 100% for the match so he has enough justification for a rematch in the coming weeks. Should he then lose that rematch however, Gable will be left at a crossroads in WWE, with there being a possibility he could slip down the card or be elevated up into the main event.

Given how strong his performances were since winning the IC Title – and his over a decade of grinding in WWE before then – Gable deserves a crack at a world title in 2027, so hopefully WWE do continue to push him as strongly heading into the new year.

Lash Legend

Just less than a month ago, Lash Legend entered her first Money in the Bank ladder match as one of the favorites to capture the briefcase. While WWE ultimately with Tiffany Stratton, it’s clear that WWE view her as a future world champion; why else would they book her to dominate in some of WWE’s biggest matches of the year?

Legend followed up an appearance in 2025’s women’s WarGames match with a statement-making performance in the Royal Rumble, where she racked up more eliminations than any other competitor. She would then earn a spot in the ladder match to crown a new WWE Women’s Champion at SummerSlam, before qualifying for Money in the Bank.

The next step is winning one of these big matches and being elevated into the world title picture, something that feels inevitable for Legend in 2027.

Roxanne Perez

While Lash Legend was ONE OF the favorites to win Money in the Bank, Roxanne Perez entered the match as THE odds on pick to capture the briefcase.

As mentioned, this was not the direction WWE went in. But fans of “The Prodigy” mustn’t get too downtrodden, as her big crowning moment is almost certainly still coming before too long.

At the time of writing, Perez is the betting favorite to win next year’s women’s Royal Rumble match, and if she does just that, she will be propelled, not only out of the mid-card, but also out from the shadow of Women’s World Champion Liv Morgan.
