With WWE Survivor Series set for showtime in San Diego, California on November 29, there have been some matches canceled in the lead-up.

From the originally reported configurations for WarGames to other matches that were teased but didn’t come to fruition, there were some interesting things that ended up scrapped.

Here are six WWE Survivor Series 2025 matches that were canceled.

6. Original Men’s WarGames Teams

While the women’s WarGames teams came to fruition as originally reported, the men’s configuration seemingly took a few turns before showtime.

The original plan was for a heel team led by Seth Rollins to include Bron Breakker, Bronson Reed, Austin Theory and Brock Lesnar.

In the end, Seth Rollins’ injury proved to be the biggest shake-up, leading to Logan Paul joining forces with The Vision, Brock Lesnar and Drew McIntyre to make up the heel team.

The babyface team was originally set to include CM Punk, Roman Reigns, Jey Uso, Jacob Fatu and either Jimmy Uso or LA Knight. With Jacob Fatu out of action with injury, Cody Rhodes was brought in, with Jimmy Uso chosen over Knight for the all-star group.

5. Rey Mysterio vs. Dominik Mysterio

Though there were some initial reports that John Cena would be facing Dominik Mysterio at Survivor Series 2025, a potential change in plans emerged in early November.

Rey Mysterio made a big return to WWE Raw on November 3 and interrupted Dominik – it seemed as though the Survivor Series 2025 bout could have been a father vs son WrestleMania 39 rematch.

However, John Cena would find himself interrupted by Dom on the next episode of WWE Raw, leading to their match that night and Cena’s Intercontinental Title win before a rematch was set up for Survivor Series.

The father-son showdown could still happen in the future as Dominik Mysterio continues to carry the AAA Mega Championship.

4. Traditional Survivor Series Match

Keeping in step with recent years, it will be WarGames for both a men’s and women’s match at WWE Survivor Series 2025, rather than the traditional Survivor Series elimination matches of the past.

But that doesn’t mean there wasn’t any traditional Survivor Series action with the SmackDown airing on November 28 hosting a traditional match.

It was the MFTs taking on Sami Zayn, Shinsuke Nakamura, The Motor City Machine Guns and Rey Fenix.

In the end, the MFTs picked up the victory with Solo Sikoa as the sole survivor, but after the match, the Wyatt Sicks attacked Sikoa seemingly heating up their feud again.

3. Stephanie Vaquer vs. Roxanne Perez – Women’s World Championship

It seemed as though Stephanie Vaquer and Roxanne Perez could have been headed for a collision course on a premium live event stage.

However, the storyline took a different turn.

Instead of getting a title shot against Stephanie Vaquer for the Women’s World Title, Perez didn’t end up making the card for WWE Survivor Series 2025.

Instead, after Nikki Bella turned heel on Vaquer, she would challenge the champ to a match at the PLE.

2. Becky Lynch vs. AJ Lee – Women’s Intercontinental Championship

There was a title change on WWE Raw a couple of weeks ago with Maxxine Dupri defeating Becky Lynch to win her first title in WWE with a little bit of help from AJ Lee.

Celebrating after the match with Dupri, Lee seemed very pleased with having cost Lynch the title.

With Lee and Lynch next set to face off during the WarGames match at Survivor Series 2025, it seems any future fracas over championships will have to wait.

Potentially continuing their intense feud in the absence of a specific trophy, these two could continue to tangle as they’ve still yet to have a one-on-one clash.

1. Tag Team Championship Match

With four matches on the card at time of writing, there doesn’t seem to be any additional titles on the line for Survivor Series 2025.

This includes either the World Tag Team Championship currently held by AJ Styles and Dragon Lee or the WWE Tag Team Championship held by the Wyatt Sicks. While the Wyatt Sicks seemingly continue to target the MFTs, Styles & Lee are fending off challenges from The New Day.

There is always the potential to add an open challenge bout for Ilja Dragunov’s United States Championship – or perhaps a title shot at Chelsea Green’s Women’s US Championship – to the main card for the PLE.

Leaving room for an NXT star to debut – or to capitalize on the current popularity of the likes of Carmelo Hayes who impressed in the Last Time Is Now tournament – there is definitely room on the card for one more match at Petco Park, but it appears the lineup may be stuck at four.
