It was quite the week for R-Truth, as on June 1, he announced he had been “released” by WWE – yet following significant backlash to the decision, he appeared in the main event at WWE Money in the Bank, seemingly re-signed.
In the wake of these events – and the clear popularity of the 53-year-old – could we now see him in an even bigger spotlight, perhaps heading up his own faction?
Here are some fellow overlooked individuals we could see joining a brand-new R-Truth-led group.
5. Otis

Following his return, it appears R-Truth will be going by his real name, Ron Killings.
This suggests a potential shift in gimmick – possibly shedding much of the comedy and presenting a more serious character.
Another talented worker long saddled with a comedic gimmick is Otis, who recently showed in a hard-hitting match with Rusev on WWE Raw that he can work effectively as a no-nonsense hoss.
Joining this new faction could see Otis also make a switch in gimmick – a necessary character change that might finally bring the underutilised big man a deserved push.

4. Apollo Crews

Apollo Crews is currently sidelined with a pectoral injury.
Before the setback, he’d been largely underutilised – confined to dark matches and C-shows like WWE Speed and Main Event.
A longtime roster member and supremely talented in-ring performer, Crews has consistently been pushed below his level.
Aligning with R-Truth’s new faction of overlooked talent could see him given a renewed spotlight.

3. Ridge Holland

Another overlooked member of the roster is British star Ridge Holland.
Once a prominent figure on WWE programming as part of the Brawling Brutes with Sheamus and Pete Dunne, his stock has dropped decidedly.
Despite his talent as an in-ring performer, he was sent back to NXT at the end of 2023, where he has since languished.
A high-impact worker, he’d be a perfect fit for R-Truth’s faction – perhaps forming a powerhouse tag team with Otis.

2. Omos

7’3″ WWE star Omos has been missing in action since last year.
He recently appeared on Chris Van Vliet’s podcast, noting that he’s “waiting” to return.
While still somewhat limited in-ring, there’s clearly a place for a physical specimen like Omos on WWE’s roster – it’s just about finding the right role.
That could very well be joining R-Truth’s faction, where he’d benefit significantly from working alongside veteran Ron Killings.

1. Shinsuke Nakamura

Former WWE Intercontinental and United States Champion Shinsuke Nakamura currently lacks direction on SmackDown.
Since losing the US Title, he’s done little but suffer losses when he does appear.
At 45, he may not be the in-ring worker he once was, but he remains one of WWE’s most charismatic and underutilised performers.
Joining R-Truth’s newly formed faction could offer fresh direction and provide the Japanese star with renewed emphasis.
