Throughout the WWE roster, there are several singles stars who previously tasted great success as a part of a tag team.
Whether these duos tasted championships success or not, their may still be gas left in the tank if WWE decided to bring them back together once more.
Here are three WWE stars to reform their prior tag teams.
Carmelo Hayes & Trick Williams
2026 has been a breakout year for Trick Williams in WWE. Being called up to SmackDown from NXT at the beginning of the year, Trick has established himself as one of WWE’s brightest young stars for the future
Years before this run however, he and Carmelo Hayes ran NXT as Trick Melo Gang, with Trick playing more of a sidekick role to Hayes – who was far more experienced between the ropes than he was.
The pair never captured tag team gold in NXT, and separated before they made it onto WWE SmackDown, however, they do both remain babyfaces on the brand. Sure, they haven’t exactly been seeing eye to eye on SmackDown, as both pursue the United States Title, but there may be a way back for their friendship eventually.
If Trick fails in his mission to reclaim the US Title from Baron Corbin at Sunday Night’s Main Event, he may need a change in direction. Rather than having he and Melo continue to pursue the US gold, WWE could pair them together and form a unit alongside Lil Yachty. The WWE tag team division is in need of some investment, and Trick Melo Gang could certainly give it a shot in the arm.
Enzo Amore & Big Cass
After vignettes aired throughout July, Big Cass made his return to WWE TV on the August 3 episode of Monday Night Raw.
However, rather than coming back alongside his old tag team partner Enzo Amore and reuniting their popular pairing from a decade ago, Cass arrived as a monster heel intent on dominating the babyfaces on the Raw roster.
This direction came as a bit of a surprise to fans given that Enzo Amore was reportedly spotted at the WWE Performance Center back in May, and it was later said that he was WWE bound and set to return to the NXT brand.
If Enzo is indeed heading back to WWE, it would be silly on the company’s part to keep him away from Cass, as that seems to be what fans want to see from both men.
Je’Von Evans & Leon Slater
Moving on to the subject of Big Cass’ fury lately: Je’Von Evans. ‘The Young OG’ is clearly set for big things in WWE and should be in the hunt for championships at this stage of his main roster run.
Evans still has a chance to break Jeff Hardy’s record and become the youngest Intercontinental Champion in history, but he’s not the only young star chasing history this year.
Evans occasional tag team partner Leon Slater is challenging Nic Nemeth to become the youngest TNA World Champion of all time at Bound for Glory 2026, but questions remain regarding how long ‘The Youngest in Charge’ will remain in TNA.
With his contract reportedly due to come up at the end of 2026, WWE may look to sign up Slater and reunite him with Evans given how much they impressed as a tandem in 2026.
