Sami Zayn has repeatedly referred to his goal of capturing a WWE world title in recent months.
If Zayn is to be pushed as a viable challenger for Seth Rollins’ World Heavyweight Title on Raw, he needs backup – a work-rate focused faction to battle with Rollins’ own group with Bron Breakker, Bronson Reed and manager Paul Heyman known as The Vision.
Here are five WWE stars who could join a new Sami Zayn faction.
5. Je’Von Evans

NXT’s Je’Von Evans is proving himself to be one of WWE’s top young prospects.
The 21-year-old has delivered a slew of show-stealing in-ring performances this year on WWE’s developmental brand, as well as demonstrating the ability to perform on big events, delivering impressively in the four-way bout against Ethan Page, Rey Fenix, and Laredo Kid at the WWE and AAA crossover show in June.
Placing him with Sami Zayn is a logical move; vibe-wise, both are fundamentally likable babyfaces, and it would also serve the purpose of Evans gaining experience alongside one of wrestling’s most versatile veterans.
All factions need young prospects who are next up – Evans could be that for Zayn.

4. Sheamus

A potential Sami Zayn faction established to take on The Vision requires a bruiser – a heavyweight able to take on Bron Breakker and Bronson Reed.
Sheamus appears the optimal choice for the role.
One of WWE’s most consistent performers, the 47-year-old remains popular with the WWE fanbase,.
Placing Sheamus with Zayn’s work-rate faction is definitely a vibe-match and one that could give the Irishman a renewed run at main event level.

3. William Regal

One of the key components of memorable factions is having an on-screen manager – from Paul Heyman in The Vision to Bobby Heenan leading his family to MVP in The Hurt Syndicate.
However, it’s not just heel factions that are bolstered by a manager – The Blackpool Combat Club in AEW was aided greatly by the presence of William Regal, both as a mentor figure and as their mouth-piece.
One of wrestling’s great communicators, this is a role that Regal could recreate in WWE.
Since returning to WWE from AEW in 2023, Regal has only appeared sporadically, working behind the scenes on global talent development, but it could be time for him to step back from behind the curtain and join Sami Zayn as part of his work-rate faction.

2. Motor City Machine Guns

All effective factions need a tag team within their ranks.
With long-time experience as a team, few would align more with Sami Zayn for his potential group than the Motor City Machine Guns – coming up through and grinding on the same indies together.
Like Zayn, the duo made their careers on being excellent in-ring workers, but their WWE run has recently stalled, besides the responsibility of getting the Wyatt Sicks and the MFTs over. It’s been over four months since MCMG even won a match.
A move to Raw for the pair, joining with Sami Zayn to battle The Vision, would promise standout trios matches.

1. Shinsuke Nakamura

One of the most critically celebrated matches of NXT’s peak black-and-gold era was the clash between Sami Zayn and the debuting Shinsuke Nakamura at TakeOver: Dallas in 2016.
Their certified in-ring classic was followed in the years since by many matches between the pair, both as opponents and partners.
In recent years, Nakamura’s star has fallen in WWE, with the charismatic performer currently without direction and making only sporadic appearances on SmackDown.
While not the in-ring worker of old, placing Nakamura in a faction with his longtime rival / comrade-in-arms could give his career the jumpstart it currently needs.
