John Cena has less than six months remaining in his WWE in-ring career.
The key questions now are: how long will he remain a heel, and how long can he hold onto the Undisputed WWE Title?
His heel run currently shows no signs of ending – and with his storyline plans of “ruining wrestling for everyone”, could he form a faction to help him keep the title until his retirement date in December?
Here are five stars who could potentially join a John Cena-led faction.
5. The New Day

Since they turned on Big E last year, The World Tag Team Champions – New Day’s Xavier Woods and Kofi Kingston – have proven themselves to be an effective heel act.
An alliance with John Cena as part of a new faction could give them renewed prominence at the top of the card.
A Cena–New Day heel alliance is something that few had on their bingo card last year, but could it be about to happen?
If Cena’s heel run isn’t ending imminently, it would make for a very interesting alliance.

4. Travis Scott

Rapper Travis Scott looks like a likely addition if John Cena were to form a new heel faction.
After all, it was Scott who infamously aided Cena in defeating Cody Rhodes to capture his record-breaking 17th world title at WWE WrestleMania 41.
So far, no storyline explanation has been offered for Scott’s involvement or his connection to Cena – something that could now be tied into the creation of a new group.
Earlier this year, reports surfaced that Scott had begun in-ring training – so perhaps we could see him debut alongside Cena at one of the nights of this year’s SummerSlam.

3. Rusev

After a five-year absence, Rusev recently made his return to WWE on the Raw brand.
Despite being back since the Raw after WrestleMania, he currently lacks a clear direction – though recent weeks have hinted at a possible feud with Sheamus.
A potential John Cena-led faction needs a dominant enforcer, and Rusev would be perfect in the heater role.
Aligning Rusev with his former rival Cena could reignite his WWE run and give him the direction he needs.

2. Shinsuke Nakamura

Former WWE Intercontinental and United States Champion Shinsuke Nakamura is currently without a clear direction on SmackDown.
Despite his ultra-charisma, his sporadic appearances usually end in repeat pinfall losses.
Aligning him with John Cena could give the Japanese star renewed momentum, perhaps rekindling the magic of his original WWE run in 2016.
If Cena does form a new faction, Nakamura feels like a prime candidate to join.

1. Trick Williams

Current TNA World Champion Trick Williams feels like the ideal candidate for a spot in any new John Cena-led faction.
A star many compared to Cena early in his career, Williams’ work has recently grown more polished – his current run in both TNA and NXT demonstrating that his in-ring progress matches his natural charisma.
A main roster call-up to join a top heel faction would make him an immediate star.
It could even plant the seeds for Williams to eventually become Cena’s final WWE opponent.
