This year, we have seen a number of WWE stars undergo character changes in the company, with several currently in the process of doing so.
With 2026 just weeks away, we could see some more current names get a fresh coat of paint heading into the new year.
Here are six WWE stars that could be repackaged in the near future.
6) Austin Theory

Previously rumored to be joining the heel squad for the Men’s WarGames teams at Survivor Series, after several injuries shook up the plans for the bout — Austin Theory has yet to return to WWE action.
While it remains to be seen what is next for Austin Theory, it could be that by the time he does make his on-screen return — he could take a brand new direction.
Perhaps with the masked figure that helped secure the victory for the heels being a complete red herring that has nothing to do with Theory in the end, there could be a more interesting rebrand still to come.
Given the support of Paul Heyman, Theory may have something even more magical up his sleeve after the series of unfortunate events that has led to the delay in his return to WWE.

5) Michin

Michin could absolutely be repackaged ever so slightly with the addition of an equally diabolical tag team partner at her side.
Able to definitely launch from a heel run and particularly if linked up with another powerful star — it would be a lot of fun to see a different side to Michin.
Since Naomi remains out of action on the road to Motherhood rather than WrestleMania 42, the role of unhinged veteran could be easily assumed by Michin.
Bringing about some chaos throughout the women’s division, a new dastardly version of her character could certainly bring some fun either on WWE Raw or SmackDown.

4) Chad Gable & American Made

While the Creed Brothers and Ivy Nile have continued to make appearances across Main Event and NXT house shows, it could be time for the entire squad to be repackaged when Chad Gable returns from injury.
Possibly flipping into a quite literally patriotic squad rather than the satirical version that had been presented, Gable and company could end up taking on a new faction that has emerged in his absence.
Since Ludwig Kaiser has not only taken over the role of El Grande Americano but has also expanded the group, it could be that the two sides are headed for a clash.
With Bravo Americano (Tyler Bate) and Rayo Americano (Pete Dunne) now accompanying El Grande Americano — it would make sense to keep the group together for an eventual clash of stables.

3) LA Knight

After falling in the final round of the Last Time Is Now tournament to GUNTHER, perhaps it is time for a repackage of LA Knight.
While Knight has remained a perpetual fan favorite, he has failed to capture a top title in WWE and hasn’t held any gold since April 2025, it could be that he is due to be re-packaged a bit.
Able to lean into an anti-authority edge that already exists, a slightly darker version of LA Knight could emerge as he could even align with Drew McIntyre.
With the pair able to convert fans’ sentiments into compelling on-screen arguments from their own heelish perspectives, there could be a new disgruntled gentleman’s alliance formed between McIntyre and Knight.

2) Axiom

While he has appeared in his masked iteration since being called up to SmackDown, Axiom could potentially rebrand quite easily.
After Candice LeRae snatched off his mask, Axiom has resumed being a masked character but hasn’t always been — previously going by A-Kid in NXT UK, he absolutely could return to showing his face.
Potentially pulling a reverse Ludwig Kaiser (who has assumed the role of the masked El Grande Americano, largely abandoning his former character) Axiom could find himself becoming a brand new maskless man.
Able to strike up a rivalry with Nathan Frazer or even be drafted away from his Fraxiom tag team partner, there could be some intriguing moves ahead for Axiom.

1) Sami Zayn

While he has been a babyface for quite some time, WWE fans fondly remember a different version of Sami Zayn’s character.
Quite a bit of fun when he was an over-the-top conspiracy theorist, it could be that Zayn’s next big challenge could be joining up with WWE’s most mystical faction.
If Zayn were to be seemingly sucked into the Wyatt Sicks universe in his quest to still seek revenge on Solo Sikoa, his character could go through an interesting journey.
Being able to be excused as being brainwashed by Uncle Howdy, there could also be a way to view the events that Zayn was reclaiming his own identity after a more cartoonish version of himself had emerged during his time with the Bloodline. A solid moment for the return of a cinematic match, the shift could end up fun.
