Throughout the course of 2025, WWE SmackDown has added various stars to its roster that have helped to round out almost every division.

From Rey Fenix and Fraxiom to Giulia and JC Mateo, these pickups have been getting a lot of attention and refreshed the talent on the blue brand.

When looking at the current state of the free agency market and WWE NXT, there could be even more stars about to make their arrival on SmackDown in the weeks and months to come.

Here are eight potential new WWE signings on SmackDown.

8. Mariah May

On the June 3 edition of WWE NXT, former AEW star Mariah May made her shocking debut in the company.

After a stellar two year run with All Elite Wrestling, this big arrival will set May up to be one of the major stars of the NXT brand.

However, Mariah may not be on NXT for too long considering the last few top notch free agents that were signed to WWE who had fairly short stints on the brand.

Looking at her experience and the exposure she gained from her time in AEW, it would make a great deal of sense if Mariah is only on NXT briefly before making her way to SmackDown where they need high end talent to add depth to the women’s division.

7. Je’Von Evans

At 21 years old, there is denying that Je’Von Evans has a very bright future ahead of him.

On the May 30 episode of SmackDown, Evans made his WWE main roster debut in a tag team match alongside Rey Fenix against Legado Del Fantasma.

After this strong showing, it would be logical if SmackDown GM Nick Aldis looks at Evans as a potential signing to the blue brand.

“The Young OG” has displayed an awe inspiring style and undeniable charisma that will make him a breakout star if he were to sign with SmackDown and should skyrocket up the ranks sooner rather than later.

6. Saraya (Paige)

In March, Saraya announced her departure from All Elite Wrestling after three years with the company.

Prior to her exit from AEW, Saraya started to make it publicly known that she is open to making a return to WWE.

Being cleared to return to in-ring action in AEW, WWE could bring the former Paige into the company in any number of roles.

Whether it be as an in-ring performer or as an authority figure, Saraya is someone who could make an instant impact and bring a huge amount of star power to the SmackDown women’s division.

5. Matt Cardona

Since being released from WWE in 2020, Matt Cardona has completely reinvented himself from his Zack Ryder persona.

Becoming “The Deathmatch King” and “The Indy God,” Cardona has gone on to enormous success and won championship gold all around the world.

Over the past year, Cardona has made it no secret that he is more than open to make a WWE return after five years away from the promotion.

With his wife Chelsea Green a big part of the SmackDown brand, it would make a lot of sense for Cardona to also make his way to Friday nights if he were to re-sign with WWE.

4. Ricky Saints

When Ricky Saints made his WWE debut back in February, the former AEW star wasted no time in proving why so many fans saw him as a guy ready made for the limelight.

On the whole, Saints possesses a tremendous amount of charisma and superb talking ability that makes him someone who could truly stand out on the WWE main roster.

After losing the NXT North American Championship to Ethan Page on the May 27 episode of WWE NXT, reports emerged that Saints is expected to be called up to the main roster.

When looking at the SmackDown roster, Ricky could instantly be positioned as a rising star on the brand, while also working alongside his friends and former AEW peers Cody Rhodes and Jade Cargill.

3. Jordynne Grace

Another WWE NXT star who has been rumoured to make the move to the main roster recently is Jordynne Grace.

Signing with WWE in January, “The Juggernaut” was speculated to start her run with the company on the main roster.

After a short stint on the NXT brand, it feels like the company is already ready to place the three-time TNA Knockouts World Champion on Raw or SmackDown.

With the SmackDown women’s division needing more stars who could rise up the ladder quickly, Grace feels like a perfect addition who could easily be positioned as a formidable opponent for the likes of Giulia or Bianca Belair.

At WWE WrestleMania 41 Night Two, Joe Hendry made a surprise appearance as the open challenge opponent for Randy Orton.

Following his appearances at Mania and WWE Royal Rumble 2025, it has become very clear that the company sees a lot in the former TNA World Champion.

With his stellar charisma and catchy theme song, Hendry has reached unprecedented heights in his career and has become one of the most popular babyfaces in the business today.

Whenever he becomes a free agent, WWE will surely offer him a contract where he could be a wonderful addition to the SmackDown roster.

At WWE NXT Battleground, Williams defeated Joe Hendry to win the TNA World Championship. With this victory, Trick made history by becoming the first active WWE star to win a TNA title.

This run could be used as one final test to see if Williams is truly ready to launch himself to superstardom on the WWE main roster.

Over on SmackDown, Trick has so many directions he could potentially go whether it be reuniting with Carmelo Hayes or squaring off with one of the brand’s top stars like Cody Rhodes and Randy Orton.
