WWE’s next PLE, Money in the Bank, takes place on Saturday 7 June and the card is now beginning to take shape.
Alongside the guaranteed men’s and women’s ladder matches, there is set to be a star-studded tag bout between Undisputed Champion John Cena and Logan Paul against WWE Champion Jey Uso and Cody Rhodes, as well as a heated Women’s Intercontinental Title clash between fierce rivals Lyra Valkyria and Becky Lynch.
As well as more bouts, surprise returns are all but guaranteed, especially with a two-night SummerSlam coming in August.
Here are six WWE stars who could make their return at Money in the Bank.
6. Asuka

Asuka has been out of action since Backlash 2024, recovering from a serious knee injury.
Her Kabuki Warriors tag partner, Kairi Sane made her own return to WWE programming recently on Raw.
On the 26 May Raw, Sane defeated one half of the Women’s Tag Team Champions, Liv Morgan – setting up a possible title match.
Could Money in the Bank be the moment Asuka makes her highly-anticipated return to reunite with Sane and chase tag team gold?

5. Tama Tonga & Tonga Loa

Neither of the Bloodline’s brother tag team, Tama Tonga and Tanga Loa, have been seen on WWE programming recently due to both men dealing with injuries.
In their absence, the faction recently added JC Mateo – someone both men know well from their time in New Japan Pro Wrestling – igniting further tensions between Solo Sikoa and Jacob Fatu.
Tonga and Loa will undoubtedly play a role in any upcoming intra-Bloodline conflict.
While the Bloodline’s involvement at Money in the Bank currently remains unclear – with Solo having failed to qualify for the ladder match and Fatu set to compete for a spot on 30 May edition of SmackDown — a surprise return from the tag team on 7 June is very much a possibility.

4. Bayley

Bayley has remained absent from WWE programming since being pulled from the WrestleMania 41 card following an injury angle involving a backstage attack carried out by Becky Lynch.
In the interim, Lynch has been locked in a heated feud with Lyra Valkyria over the Women’s Intercontinental Title, which she is set to challenge for again at Money in the Bank.
It seems likely that Lynch will finally capture the title at the PLE.
It also seems likely that her victory will be interrupted by the return of Bayley, reigniting their long-standing, multi-year rivalry.

3. Rey Mysterio

Rey Mysterio suffered a groin injury the night before WrestleMania 41, forcing him to withdraw from his scheduled match against El Grande Americano – Chad Gable’s mock luchador.
Given Gable’s ongoing war against luchadors, it’s all but certain that Rey will return to resume their unfinished feud.
It was announced on Raw that Gable will face El Hijo del Vikingo for the AAA Mega Championship at Worlds Collide, which takes place the same day as Money in the Bank.
Should Gable win the title, Rey could make his return at MITB to issue a challenge for the belt.
2. Paige

Speculation about Paige returning to WWE has been steadily mounting in recent months.
Since leaving AEW in March, she has made several comments that have only fuelled the rumours.
A return to the company where she became a star and helped elevate the status of women’s wrestling feels increasingly imminent.
That comeback could happen as soon as Money in the Bank.

1. Roman Reigns

Roman Reigns has not been seen since the Raw after WrestleMania, where he was attacked and beaten down by Seth Rollins and Bron Breakker.
Working only WWE’s biggest events, it’s all but guaranteed he’ll return for a major bout at the two-night SummerSlam, likely against a member of Heyman’s faction.
To set that up, Reigns will need to return to WWE programming – but the question is when.
Could Money in the Bank be the moment, with Reigns costing Rollins the briefcase and setting up a blockbuster match in August?
