There will be a lot of changes to the upcoming WWE creative plans after Seth Rollins vacated the World Heavyweight Championship due to injury.
From matches that have already been scrapped to plans for months down the line that seem certainly in jeopardy — there are a multitude of shifts that will need to happen to storylines moving forward.
Here are eight WWE creative plans that will have to change after the injury to Seth Rollins.
8. Seth Rollins vs. CM Punk At Saturday Night’s Main Event Cancelled

While fans were looking forward to seeing Seth Rollins attempt to fend off a singles challenge from CM Punk at Saturday Night’s Main Event, it has been canceled.
With Seth Rollins’ injury taking him out of action and vacating the WWE World Heavyweight Championship, there will instead be an entirely new match for the event.
CM Punk maintained his spot in the bout but there was a battle royal on WWE Raw to determine who he would face for the vacant title.
In the end, the match was won by Jey Uso setting up the showdown between Punk & Uso for the November 1 event.

7. Bron Breakker’s Babyface Arc

In the wake of Crown Jewel 2025, Seth Rollins would be written off of TV after a vicious spear and tsunami combo from his former proteges.
With Bron Breakker attacking Rollins first and then bringing Bronson Reed along as well, the duo squarely ended up being the villains of the attack.
However, if Rollins weren’t injured and thereby forced to be written off TV — the alliance would have certainly lasted longer.
With the potential that Breakker could have emerged as a fan favorite babyface in response to his treatment under the tyrannical Rollins — the potential babyface Breakker will seemingly be on pause.

6. Men’s WarGames Team

Before Rollins’ injury, there was report from the Wrestling Observer’s Dave Meltzer that there was a working plan for the months ahead — including sharing his intel on the potential WWE Survivor Series WarGames men’s and women’s teams.
According to Meltzer, the original plan was for the heel team of Seth Rollins, Bron Breakker, Bronson Reed, Brock Lesnar and Austin Theory to take on the babyface squad of Roman Reigns, CM Punk, Jey Uso, Jacob Fatu and either LA Knight or Jimmy Uso.
With both Rollins and Jacob Fatu out of action, there will likely be alterations from these originally planned line-ups but just how altered remains unclear.
In his latest Wrestling Observer Newsletter however, Meltzer notes that as of now — WWE’s plans are still for CM Punk & Roman Reigns to anchor the babyface team taking on the heel team led by The Vision.

5. Austin Theory’s Return

One of the intriguing bits that had come out about the potential Survivor Series WarGames team was that the Rollins led heel squad included Austin Theory.
With Theory having last appeared in action in WWE back in July, his absence was explained on-screen that he was injured with his A-Town Down Under tag team with Grayson Waller swiftly disbanded.
While there had been an on-going potential break-up storyline between Waller & Theory that presumably would see Theory come out as the babyface in the rivalry — instead it seemed as though a heel Theory was set to return.
With speculation that there are still some in WWE that are supportive of Austin Theory making a big return to TV soon, it remains to be seen if he will align with The Vision or something else entirely.

4. Mixed Faction Matches

There was a very interesting side quest from The Vision when recently Becky Lynch was running with the squad.
Ahead of Seth Rollins and Becky Lynch joining forces in the ring to take on CM Punk and AJ Lee, Lynch appeared as though she were a full fledged member of The Vision.
With numerous other mixed factions already existing in WWE including the Wyatt Sicks, Judgment Day, American Made, Alpha Academy and more in NXT — there could have been some incredibly interesting mixed multi-person matches.
With Rollins out of The Vision and Lynch clearly no longer an ally of the the squad, she certainly won’t be teaming with Bron Breakker or Bronson Reed anytime soon.

3. Seth Rollins Turning On The Vision

While Seth Rollins was seemingly committed to the future of The Vision faction before he was attacked by the Brons — their inevitable faction break-up could have been planned an entirely different way.
Able to position Rollins as a tyrannical ruler who gatekeeps opportunities from his younger and highly talented members, both Bron Breakker and Bronson Reed could have ended up appearing as babyfaces in the group’s dynamic.
Equally as likely to have simply cut them off at a mild inconvenience, Rollins’ character has proven himself to be a notoriously fickle friend.
It seems likely that The Visionary would have multiple exit strategies if it weren’t for the real life injury changing the character’s plans.

2. Jey Uso Heel Turn

While there has been some recent compelling character work that was teasing a potential turn to the dark side for Main Event Jey Uso — it is possible Seth Rollins’ injury could expedite the process.
With Uso set to face off against CM Punk at Saturday Night’s Main Event, there could end up being a surprise heel turn from Jey Uso on Punk to recapture the World Heavyweight Championship.
Potentially aligning Uso with The Vision in the wake of Roman Reigns’ rejection of Jey at Crown Jewel, there could be a very interesting swerve that comes about solely due to Rollins’ injury.
Perhaps pivoting towards seeing a massive future showdown between Jey Uso and Roman Reigns instead of Seth Rollins could save the framework of the creative while changing the details.

1. Roman Reigns vs. Seth Rollins At WrestleMania 42

A longer term plan that may be scrapped as well is the brewing singles showdown between Seth Rollins and Roman Reigns.
The pair have continued to orbit around one another — engaging in feuds but never quite linking up for a singles showdown to once and for all prove which is the better man in their latest character iterations.
With reported plans to see the eventual showdown between the two behemoths at WWE WrestleMania 42, it seems the bout may have to wait again.
Although Seth Rollins has recently undergone surgery, his overall timeframe for return remains reasonably unknown.
