On the December 22 episode of Monday Night Raw, WWE NXT’s Je’Von Evans picked up a victory over Rayo Americano.
Ahead of this bout, commentary announced that Evans was now officially a free agent despite being part of the NXT roster for the past two years.
Now that it seems like Evans is being called up, WWE NXT may have to consider who will take his spot as a top babyface for the brand moving forward.
Considering his new free agent status, here are seven potential WWE NXT replacements for Je’Von Evans.
7. Sean Legacy

Signed as the first male WWE ID signee, Sean Legacy has been a standout from the program and the new Evolve revival brand.
Clearly positioned as the top babyface for the brand, Legacy has made a name for himself as an impressive in-ring performer with his high flying and technical ability.
With a great deal of agility and athleticism, Legacy has made his mark so much that he has even been able to be highlighted on WWE NXT in a few appearances.
Now taking that next step in his WWE run, it might be time for Sean Legacy to be called up to NXT and replace Je’Von Evans as the most popular babyface on the brand.

6. Jack Cartwheel

At the AAA Guerra de Titanes event, Laredo Kid defeated Jack Cartwheel and Je’Von Evans to retain the AAA Cruiserweight Championship.
In one of the most exciting matches seen in the Mexican promotion all year, fans were left stunned by the in-ring magic these three men delivered.
After showing off chemistry with Evans, it could be Jack Cartwheel who is brought up from WWE Evolve to NXT.
With his cartwheel based offense and unique high flying exploits, Cartwheel could bring a similar excitement to the NXT brand that “The Young OG” has been able to over the past few years.

Another WWE ID talent that could be seen as a possible replacement for Je’Von Evans could be Cappuccino Jones.
Over on WWE Evolve, Jones has formed a fun new tag team with Jack Cartwheel called Adrenaline Drip.
With his charisma and thrilling in-ring style, Jones has established himself as someone to watch and gone on to capture the WWE ID Men’s Championship.
Taking another step in his rise, Jones could be seen as an ideal replacement for Evans due to his look and ability to wow fans inside the squared circle on WWE NXT.

4. Kam Hendrix (Anthony Luke)

During the first two seasons of WWE LFG, Anthony Luke was a standout from the crop of Performance Center talent.
After failing to win or make it to the finals of either season, Luke has recently made his debut on WWE Evolve under a new name of Kam Hendrix.
The star known as “Showtime” had an impactful debut on the brand, leading Team PC in a victory over Team ID in a gauntlet match.
Now that he has made his presence felt on WWE Evolve and LFG, it might be time for Hendrix to take another step in his progression by replacing Je’Von Evans over on the WWE NXT brand.

3. Leon Slater

Back at TNA Bound For Glory 2025, Leon Slater faced Je’Von Evans for the TNA X-Division Championship with the match going to a no contest due to outside interference from WWE NXT’s Dark State.
This led to Slater making regular appearances on WWE television, teaming with Evans as the pairing excited fans on NXT weekly.
Most recently, “The Youngest In Charge” became a number one contender for Oba Femi’s NXT Championship at New Year’s Evil by defeating Myles Borne, Joe Hendry and Dion Lennox in a four-way on the December 16 episode of NXT.
After their connection and both being 21 years old, Slater should be the no-brainer option to replace Je’Von on WWE NXT moving forward.

Ahead of WrestleMania 41, WWE announced their acquisition of Mexican promotion, Lucha Libre AAA.
One of the AAA stars who has been featured prominently in both promotions since the acquisition is El Hijo de Dr. Wagner Jr.
The second generation star has not only been consistently highlighted, but he is also the current, reigning AAA Latin American Champion.
Dr. Wagner III officially signing with WWE NXT could see him become an ideal replacement for Je’Von Evans as a top babyface who could feud with the likes of Ethan Page, Ricky Saints or Oba Femi.

1. Trill London

In the second season of WWE LFG, Trill London became a notable talent who really thrived in the competition format.
Showing off a style similar to WWE legend Jeff Hardy, London was able to display his high flying ability and daredevil like exploits in a major way on LFG.
While he did not win the second season of LFG, Trill London might be the perfect person who has everything it takes to replace Je’Von Evans on NXT.
With his charisma and eccentric personality, London could offer something completely unique in comparison to “The Young OG” and work wonders on WWE NXT with the right push behind him.
