Almost ten years to the day, one of the most impactful teams in WWE history made their debut: The New Day.
I many fans’ minds they’re undoubtedly the best to ever do it, having reached an outstanding milestone of a combined 1396 days as tag team champions, including their record-breaking championship reign from August 2015 to December 2016.
Big E, Xavier Woods and Kofi Kingston are bonafide Hall of Famers who have reached levels only the greatest of the great have reached.
In addition, no other stable has stayed together for this long, especially in its original line-up.
However, the celebration of this historic moment in wrestling history is haunted by Big E still being sidelined with a career-threatening injury, and Kingston and Woods showing dissension for the first time ever.
The question is: What is this all leading to? There are a lot of possibilities, so let’s dive into them.
8. Xavier Woods Turns Heel

It has been teased for months now. Woods even started to wear black ring gear, opposing the colourful clothes that Kingston is wearing.
On top of that, he is constantly unhappy with any decision that Kofi Kingston makes on behalf of the New Day.
Frustration has set in deeply within Xavier Woods’ daily mood and he might finally snap and split this legendary team after so many years.
This is the most obvious turn of events, but maybe the most effective, as it may lead Xavier Woods to a big jump in his singles career.

7. Kofi Kingston Turns Heel

Or maybe, Woods is not the one to turn heel.
Maybe there is Trouble…in Paradise.
Kofi Kingston is the veteran and perhaps one of the the most highly-decorated WWE stars ever when it comes to days as champion in the company.
And yet there he is, constantly being criticized and belittled by his tag team partner who clearly does not trust him.
We never really know what Kofi Kingston is thinking, as he is always polite and never turned heel in his long WWE career.
Perhaps it is time for a New Day in Kingston’s career as the signal signs SOS for Xavier Woods and the future of The New Day.
Most fans are expecting Woods to turn heel if either of them do, so this would be a very interesting turn of events.

6. The New Day Mutually Agree To Part Ways

Another scenario would be the New Day still believing in the power of positivity by talking it out.
All good things must come to an end, and at the end of the day, wrestling is a singles sport.
Therefore, they could simply shake hands and call it a day.
Certainly not the happiest or grandest of endings, but something that would make sense in the way that there are both no hard feelings between them and also an understanding that is just time to separate.

5. The Old Day Returns

Of course not. I am just kidding… moving on…

4. Xavier Woods Wins The World Heavyweight Championship

Out of the three members of The New Day, Xavier Woods is the only one to never win a World Championship.
To complete the set, Xavier Woods could challenge for Gunther’s World Heavyweight Championship and win it – leading to a wonderful New Day celebration.
Woods has any right to challenge Gunther as he came incredibly close to winning the Intercontinental Championship from him back when Gunther was holding that title.
He should be mentioned in the same vein as Sami Zayn and Chad Gable. Although this could not be the only championship ending for the team…

3. The New Day Win The Tag Team Championship

They could do it one more time.
The Judgement Day vs The New Day. If New Day lose, they have to disband.
However, in this version of events, they would be able to push through and find their team spirit again as they capture yet another set of tag team titles.
Confetti rains and all is well again in the book of The New Day. A happy ending.

2. Kofi Kingston Retires

Kofi Kingston is one of the longest-tenured active wrestlers on WWE’s main roster.
Unfortunately, everyone’s time eventually comes and we might not be far away from one of the best to ever do it lacing up his boots for one final time.
Even though nobody would be happy to see it, the final Boom Drop, the final SOS and the final Trouble in Paradise might be just around the corner.
Basically, Kofi has done everything there is to do in his career and he might be coming to the conclusion that at this point he might only be holding back his friend Xavier Woods.

1. Big E Returns, Reuniting The New Day

But who am I fooling here?
This is what we want to see and it is what needs to happen!
Big E has been out of action since March 2022
There is no medical update that suggests Big E is ring-ready and he’s only appeared in non-wrestling roles since.
But, there is still hope that one day the former WWE Champion is ready to return and now is the time to do it.
The moment Big E stands side by side with Xavier Woods and Kofi Kingston one more time is special and there would probably be not a dry eye in the arena.
Thank you for 10 years, New Day. May the power of positivity last forever.
