With Backlash now in the books, attention turns to the next WWE Premium Live Event: Money in the Bank.
In recent years, Money in the Bank has graduated into one of WWE’s “Big Five” events, sitting alongside WrestleMania, Royal Rumble, SummerSlam, and Survivor Series.
This year’s event takes place at the Intuit Dome in California on Saturday, June 7.
Here are our predictions for the matches that could feature on the Money in the Bank card this year.
7. Women’s Money In The Bank Ladder Match

With the women’s division across all three brands stacked and consistently delivering high-quality matches, this year’s Money in the Bank promises fireworks.
The six-woman ladder match could be expected to feature Charlotte Flair, Roxanne Perez, Rhea Ripley, Jade Cargill, Bayley, and possibly a surprise return from Damage CTRL’s Kairi Sane.
The winner of the briefcase could take several intriguing directions, depending on how storylines unfold in the lead-up to the event.
Don’t be surprised if Charlotte Flair walks away with the win – having made her title intentions clear on the May 9 edition of SmackDown, she could secure the briefcase for the first time.

6. Jey Uso vs. Seth Rollins

Jey Uso’s next World Heavyweight Championship challenge has already been set: a bout with Logan Paul at Saturday Night’s Main Event.
Given the storyline momentum, this is a match Uso seems likely to win.
Although Seth Rollins recently lost to Uso on Raw, he remains a likely contender for the title – and with a major push as the leader of a new faction alongside Bron Breakker and Paul Heyman, Rollins seems destined to be the next champion.
This one-on-one title bout could take place as early as Money in the Bank.

5. IYO SKY vs. Giulia

The “Genius of the Sky” has been soaring in recent months.
Internally regarded – according to the Wrestling Observer – as WWE’s breakout star of the year, she has been wholly embraced by the audience, rewarding their support with consistently outstanding match quality.
While she didn’t feature at Backlash, recent weeks have seen her embroiled in a cross-brand feud on Raw and NXT with fellow Japanese star, the ultra-charismatic Giulia.
That rivalry looks set to reach its climax soon in a potential show-stealer to look forward to at Money in the Bank.

4. John Cena vs. Randy Orton

Prior to their Undisputed WWE Championship clash at Backlash, Michael Cole repeatedly noted that it “could” be the final encounter between John Cena and Randy Orton.
Given the controversial finish – Cena using a low blow and a belt shot to secure the win after interference from R-Truth – that “could” now feels very deliberate.
With Orton clearly wronged, a rematch seems inevitable.
Don’t be surprised if the next chapter of their forever-rivalry occurs at WWE’s Money in the Bank.

3. Tiffany Stratton vs. Nia Jax

On the May 9 edition of SmackDown, Nia Jax defeated Jade Cargill to become the number one contender for the WWE Women’s Championship.
This sets up a clash with former partner Tiffany Stratton.
A title match between the two at Money in the Bank is fitting – after all, it was Stratton who cashed in the briefcase she won last year to take the title from Jax.
The question now is: who prevails in this high-stakes rematch?

2. “Dirty” Dominik Mysterio vs. Finn Balor

The slow unravelling of Judgment Day continued at Backlash, with Finn Balor’s delayed reaction and failure to help Dominik Mysterio against Penta.
Despite Mysterio’s victory, this will undoubtedly further sow the seeds of division within the group.
Balor’s growing desire for the Intercontinental Title seems poised to break into the open, potentially leading to the group’s collapse.
Judgment Day’s implosion could come as soon as Money in the Bank.

1. Men’s Money In The Bank Ladder Match

At the 16th annual Money in the Bank event, the men’s briefcase will once again be on the line.
The six spots will undoubtedly be fiercely fought over, with names like Drew McIntyre, Damian Priest, CM Punk, recent-signee Jeff Cobb, Bron Breakker, and possibly even debuting NXT star Oba Femi all in contention.
Storylines leading up to the PLE will give a clearer direction, but with a huge star like Punk in the match, it’s hard to bet against him becoming “Mr Money in the Bank” once again.
A Punk victory could set up a potential cash-in against fierce rival Seth Rollins, should he claim the World Heavyweight Championship on the show, or even Undisputed WWE Champion John Cena.
