On August 31, WWE returns to France for the second consecutive year to present its next PLE, Clash in Paris.

WWE’s speed in getting back to the country is perhaps no surprise – last yea’s Backlash in Lyon featured one of the rowdiest and most memorable WWE crowds in recent memory.

Given the opportunity to create a major moment in front of another rapturous audience, it seems likely fans will be treated to some surprise returns – ones sure to blow the roof off the Paris La Défense Arena.

Here are five returns we could see on the show.

5. Brie Bella

At Clash In Paris, Nikki Bella is set to challenge Becky Lynch for the WWE Women’s Intercontinental Championship.

The Hall of Famer was interviewed ahead of the bout and brought up the potential return of her twin sister Brie Bella, noting: “I keep pushing it. All the women want her back, and they keep asking me every week – has that decision changed?”

The “decision” she referenced appears to relate to something Brie Bella recently spoke about on their shared podcast – that one of the key issues preventing her comeback was the fact her husband, Bryan Danielson, currently works for AEW.

It appears likely that if this was indeed the deciding factor, it may soon be reversed – and given the reaction her return would receive, we could very well witness Brie Bella appear at Clash In Paris.

4. Paige

There was much speculation earlier in the year about Saraya returning to WWE and reassuming her Paige gimmick, following the end of her year-and-a-half run in AEW.

Many predicted the return would happen at the all-women’s PLE Evolution, but it didn’t, and speculation has since cooled – the 32-year-old star herself has claimed she’s had no contact with the company.

Nonetheless, a return of Paige still feels like a matter of time.

And with Clash In Paris taking place in Europe, it may just be the perfect setting for the British star to make her WWE comeback.

3. Bianca Belair

Bianca Belair suffered a significant finger injury during her show-stealing three-way bout for the WWE Women’s World Title at WrestleMania, against IYO SKY and Rhea Ripley.

The 36-year-old star has been out of action since, making only a couple of onscreen appearances as Naomi and Jade Cargill feuded earlier in the summer.

Sports Illustrated reported last month that she was nearing being cleared for an in-ring return.

If she’s now been cleared, we could very well see the supremely talented former champion announce her comeback at Clash in Paris.

2. The Hardy Boyz

The Hardy Boys appeared in the crowd at this year’s SummerSlam, receiving a tremendous pop from the crowd at New Jersey’s MetLife Stadium.

Currently plying their trade in WWE’s US partner promotion TNA Wrestling – where they hold the tag team titles – the pair clearly remain much beloved by the WWE fanbase, who are ready to see them return for a final run.

And it certainly seems the legendary team are inching closer to a return to their old stomping grounds, especially after wrestling in NXT earlier this year.

As loud as the reaction was at SummerSlam, the French crowd would come completely unglued if the Hardys showed up in Paris.

Ilja Dragunov has been out of action since last September.

The Russian-born star was reported to have torn his ACL during a house show match with Gunther.

It has since been reported that he’s been cleared to compete again, with WWE simply waiting for the right moment to reintroduce the 31-year-old.

Given his European roots, Clash In Paris may very well be the perfect occasion for his return.
