WWE Babyface Turns Coming Soon

With plenty of dastardly heels in WWE, there could be some radical character changes in 2026 leading to some stars becoming babyfaces.

From existing fan favorites that need storylines to match their fan reception to others that might just be on the verge of having surprise reveals in the coming months — there may be some fascinating shifts coming soon to WWE.

Here are eight potential WWE babyface turns coming soon.

8. Rusev

Since making his way back to WWE from AEW, Rusev has been presented as a heel character however, the fans receive him a bit differently.

Definitely lauded as a babyface by WWE crowds, it seems that fans were so thrilled to see the return of Rusev that it becomes easy to forget he’s meant to be a heel.

Potentially looking to shift in the future to being more of a babyface, Rusev is certainly up to the task of making a complete shift or making his own new lane.

With fans genuinely seeming to root for Rusev’s success and particularly in the absence of Sheamus due to injury — it could be a big 2026 for Rusev.

7. Austin Theory

After a period of absence from TV, Theory has returned but not as a babyface character in a radical departure from his former role that some might have expected but rather a newly determined heel.

While Austin Theory has just been revealed as the man behind the mask that has been interferring in recent Vision business, there remains a lot of hanging questions.

With question marks around what Paul Heyman had to do with his involvement as well as his continued use of Seth Rollins’ Stomp finisher — it could be that Theory is sleeper cell for Rollins all along.

Able to be revealed as the babyface ally of Rollins who had infiltrated the group throughout the Visionary’s absence, the duo could turn on Heyman and easily make history revealing themselves as babyfaces at the same time in the future.

6. Finn Balor

Finn Balor remains a fan favorite star that despite his continued heel faction affiliation, still gets a warm welcome on his own.

Recently having a raucous fan reception when popping by NXT for the special Homecoming edition of the show, Balor could become a babyface again on the main roster in the future.

Arguably the most likable characters in the Judgment Day, it could be that the tag team duo of Finn Balor and JD McDonagh find themselves both becoming babyfaces soon.

Staying out of the drama seems to be Balor and McDonagh — potentially a sign of things to come for the pair.

5. Giulia

One star that could reboot as a babyface on the main roster with a brand switch could be Giulia.

With her partnership with Kiana James having been a bit start-and-stop, perhaps uniting on-screen with IYO SKY might be a simple enough fix.

Able to run alongside Rhea Ripley and IYO SKY, Giulia also would have the ability to showcase some of her amazing in-ring skills up against the formidable foes on the WWE Raw roster.

Potentially leading the way to Kiana James picking up a new client (Blake Monroe anybody?), there could be some fun new stories coming to SmackDown soon.

4. Bron Breakker

While he could certainly go on to remain a heel character, WWE crowds certainly seem endeared to the ‘Badass Bron Breakker’.

Commonly receiving him as more of a babyface than a heel already, it could be that he is on the verge of a breakout turn in the event that he faces a new dastardly challenger.

While Breakker is set to tangle with CM Punk at the first WWE Raw of 2026, perhaps he will end up facing off against The Beast Brock Lesnar in the near future.

Able to capture a major WrestleMania 42 moment as a babyface, it could be that Bron Breakker’s time to shine is coming soon.

3. Tama Tonga

Although he was written off of WWE TV ahead of WrestleMania 41, when Tama Tonga returned to TV he was a member of the MFTs.

With their faces painted, their individuality is a bit lost behind the guidance of Solo Sikoa — leading to some of Tama Tonga’s best character traits remaining hidden behind the group.

However, while the squad continues to feud with the Wyatt Sicks — it is conceivable that through their rivalry, at least one or more members of the MFTs could end up turning on Solo Sikoa after having valid points raised by Uncle Howdy.

Potentially set to depart the MFTs when Jacob Fatu makes his return, he could always reunite with the Samoan Werewolf to resume their popular partnership.

2. Santos Escobar

After seeing his WWE contract come to an end, becoming a free agent and re-signing with the company all occurring in rapid succession in late 2025 — the former SmackDown star Santos Escobar could be headed for a brand new reboot in 2026.

Potentially returning as a babyface character, Escobar could also resurrect any number of his former identities from past work in CMLL and AAA.

Masked or unmasked, babyface or heel — hopefully WWE had a solid creative pitch for Escobar to encourage him to re-sign that is is set to be played out in the coming months.

Likely to return to a brand other than SmackDown based on previous reporting, it will be fascinating to see what the future holds for the former leader of Legado Del Fantasma.

1. Seth Rollins

Perhaps the move that will be most interesting to see play out when it eventually does come to be may be a babyface turn for Seth Rollins.

After having been written out of WWE by an attack at the hands of the faction he founded, he seems poised to return with fans on his side.

With Becky Lynch already warning Paul Heyman that Rollins would be gunning for him, perhaps his babyface arc will be less about tearing apart the group and more about attacking the Oracle.

Since Heyman could have easily united with the likes of Brock Lesnar, Roman Reigns or even CM Punk by the time Seth Rollins is back in play in WWE — there might be some major new rivalries coming soon in 2026.
