There could be some big title changes coming soon to both the main roster in WWE as well as NXT as the Road to WrestleMania begins.
From major changes at the top of the card, to switches that could happen in NXT to set up some main roster call-ups, there are more than a few titles that could be changing hands in the early stages of 2026.
Here are six WWE title changes coming soon.
6. WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship – Nia Jax & Lash Legend

With the Kabuki Warriors continuing to hold on to the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship for now, it does seem likely to see the title change hands in the first part of 2026.
Seemingly still with unfinished business with the teams of both Charlotte Flair & Alexa Bliss as well as Rhea Ripley & IYO SKY – the latter of which Asuka & Kairi Sane will defend their titles against on the January 5 episode of Raw— the Kabuki Warriors have plenty on their plate in the new year.
With worthwhile contenders like Nia Jax and Lash Legend from SmackDown as well as Fatal Influence from NXT on the hunt for gold as well, there could be numerous options as to who takes the tag team titles.
While Rhea Ripley and IYO SKY are most certainly the favorites to win the gold, Nia Jax and Lash Legend could pull off a surprise and win the gold next instead.

5. NXT North American Championship — Tony D’Angelo

While a long period of absence made it seem as though he could be main roster bound, instead Tony D’Angelo made a return to NXT at Deadline.
After making a shocking return, Tony D’Angelo is clearly up to something big but it remains to be seen exactly what it might be.
While he seemingly had his sights on Je’Von Evans and Oba Femi, he has since waged an attack on NXT North American Champion Ethan Page, and their inevitable title bout could be coming soon.
With Ethan Page having proven to be a valuable and versatile character that could immediately make a big impact on the main roster, it would make sense to see the title change hands to facilitate his call-up to the main roster.

4. WWE Women’s World Championship — Liv Morgan

Although Stephanie Vaquer continues to hold the WWE Women’s World Championship on WWE Raw, it could be that her first title reign comes to an end in 2026.
After successfully retaining her title in a triple-threat match against Nikki Bella and Raquel Rodriguez on the December 29 edition of WWE Raw, perhaps a new challenger will emerge for Vaquer.
With Liv Morgan recently making her in-ring return, it seems that she will stop at nothing to reclaim her former title.
Already putting the locker room on notice, it would make total sense for Morgan to target Vaquer and seek to get her hands back on the WWE Women’s World Championship.

3. NXT Championship — Je’Von Evans

While all signs are pointing towards Je’Von Evans to zipping ahead and joining the main roster in 2026, it could be that his official call-up is delayed a bit longer.
With Oba Femi seeming set for big things in 2026 as well, it could finally be Evans’ time to shine as the figurehead of NXT.
After falling short several times, Evans’ time in NXT would feel incomplete without at least one run with the brand’s top prize.
Tony D’Angelo, Ricky Saints and Joe Hendry are some other solid options for the spot if not Je’Von, but hopefully “The Young OG” gets the chance to claim his first title victory in early 2026.

2. United States Championship — Oba Femi

With Oba Femi making a massive impression during his short feud with Cody Rhodes ahead of Saturday Night’s Main Event, it could be that “The Ruler” heads to main roster full-time very soon.
Unfortunately for another rising star in WWE, Femi’s arrival could lead to Carmelo Hayes’ first reign as WWE United States Champion ending in short order.
With Melo confirming that he intends to continue the United States Championship open challenge, he could be greeted by Femi in one of his first title defences.
While this would be disappointing for fans of Hayes, a storyline feud between the two could ultimately see both men come out better off – especially if it culminates in a major singles bout at WrestleMania 42.

1. WWE World Heavyweight Championship — Brock Lesnar

While there is already a WWE World Heavyweight Championship bout set for the first WWE Raw of 2026, the clash between CM Punk and Bron Breakker perhaps won’t lead to a title change.
With Punk making it clear in their exchange on the December 29 edition of WWE Raw that he wasn’t ready to give up the title yet, it might end up that he holds on to it a bit longer, albeit in controversial fashion.
Causing a headache for Paul Heyman, Brock Lesnar could show up during Punk vs. Breakker and attack the “Best in the World”, leading to a DQ finish.
Much to the chagrin of Breakker, “The Beast” could leapfrog him in the pecking order and dethrone Punk as champion, a move that could eventually lead to Breakker getting his first title win at Lesnar’s expense later in the year.
