With recent reports suggesting Powerhouse Hobbs has put pen to paper with WWE, Triple H is sure to have a storyline mapped out for his newest star.
From reuniting with former familiar faces from his time in AEW, to starting something entirely new, there are several interesting stories set to kick off soon.
Here are six potential WWE plans that Triple H could have for the newly signed Powerhouse Hobbs.
6. Heel Bodyguard For Chris Jericho

One way to integrate Powerhouse Hobbs into the WWE universe of characters could be to have the former TNT Champion make an arrival alongside a familiar face.
If Chris Jericho ends up returning to WWE, it would make total sense for him to need some muscle to back him up as he enters potentially hostile territory.
Enter Powerhouse Hobbs, likely with a brand new name but an equally imposing set of skills — he could become the perfect back-up to Jericho.
Linking their shared past in AEW with shady references could be fun, but more importantly, being brought under the wing of the legendary Y2J could be amazing for Hobbs’ future.

5. Tag Team With Oba Femi

With the arrival of Oba Femi continuing to be teased across both WWE Raw and SmackDown, it could be that the former NXT Champion ends up not arriving alone.
Possibly popping up on the main roster alongside the newly debuting Powerhouse Hobbs, the frightening duo could absolutely become a force.
Whether in tag team action or pursuing their own singles goals, there could be an amazing faction that is founded from their alliance expanding.
Since fan reception to Oba Femi has been overwhelmingly positive, their babyface duo could quickly become the new standard bearers for meaty men, slapping meat in WWE.

4. New Faction

Powerhouse Hobbs could certainly anchor a brand new set of arrivals with past history from AEW to create a stable.
Possibly making an appearance with another pair of AEW defectors — Isiah Kassidy and Marc Quen — the group could become an immediate force.
Add in another recruit from potentially NXT (like Ricky Saints), the group could serve as an incredible counter to The Vision.
With it first seeming like a potential group of AEW invaders — a future reveal that the injured Seth Rollins was the leader all along could be amazing, and set up a faction vs. faction war with The Vision in the coming months.

3. Reunite With Ricky Saints

While there are several former AEW stars currently in WWE, none would be a better partner in crime for Powerhouse Hobbs than his former tag team partner Ricky Saints.
With the duo being an impressive pair during their time together in Team Taz, it would make total sense to see them come together in WWE or NXT.
Given that there have been reports that WWE plan to debut Hobbs on the main roster, it seems like an alliance with Saints may not be in the company’s immediate plans for Hobbs when he first arrives.
While an immediate pairing may not come to fruition, the pair’s history and friendship makes it something WWE will have to tap into at some point. With Hobbs serving as the perfect muscle to back-up the slick mouth of Ricky Saints, there might be an amazing tag team run in the future from the pair.

2. Babyface Bodyguard For Cody Rhodes

Unlike debuting as the menacing muscle behind a heel, Hobbs could actually make the ideal babyface companion for Cody Rhodes.
Bridging together his personal influence on Hobbs’ career into their character’s partnership, the duo could be incredible.
While Rhodes has largely flown solo so far in WWE with the exception of several on-going on-screen alliances, he could potentially use a lot more power behind him.
With the potential that Rhodes could be set for a formidable foe at WrestleMania 42, it could be an amazing way for Hobbs to transition into WWE as the backup to QB1.

1. Royal Rumble Surprise Into Feud With Carmelo Hayes For United States Championship

Making a surprise entry into the Royal Rumble, Powerhouse Hobbs could take immediate aim at a WWE Champion in the match.
If he were to kick off a rivalry within the Rumble with Carmelo Hayes, by the time the next episode of SmackDown rolled around — it could be a perfect title change.
If Hobbs were to capture victory in his first singles match on SmackDown, the pair could kick off a rivalry — since of course Melo wouldn’t back down — kicking off a compelling story on the Road to WrestleMania 42.
With each potentially bringing in their own allies in Trick Williams and Ricky Saints respectively, there could end up being an amazing finale to their feud in Las Vegas.
