With Trick Williams making an appearance at the recent holiday tapings for WWE SmackDown, it could be that he is on the verge of being called up.
Joining Je’Von Evans as being poised as being soon-to-be free agents in WWE in 2026, Trick Williams could make appearances across brands before eventually committing to Raw or SmackDown.
Here are six potential WWE main roster plans for Trick Williams imminent call-up.
6. Reunite with Carmelo Hayes
Gaining traction after his impressive Last Time Is Now tournament performance, Carmelo Hayes is certainly on the rise on the main roster — which could be the perfect time for Trick Williams to also be called up.
After recently reuniting on an episode of NXT which boasted a ‘Homecoming’ theme, fans were reminded of the magic of the Trick Melo Gang.
Potentially looking to pick up where they left off with one another, Williams could entirely shirk his recent heel status across NXT and TNA Wrestling with some minimal transformations.
Becoming Melo’s brash, brazen and perhaps more heelish side personified, the pair could still work solidly together without having to have either character make any radical changes.

5. Join The Vision
A potential route to segue Trick Williams to the main roster might be to have him join forces with The Visiion.
With Bron Breakker seemingly distrustful of Paul Heyman’s introduction of the new member of Austin Theory — he could be looking to assert his own dominance in the group.
Seeking to add a member that could stay loyal to him rather than to Heyman, perhaps Breakker would call upon former foe from NXT, Trick Williams.
While the pair squared off in NXT, perhaps their partnership could be framed as being forged through combat with one another.

4. Immediately Target Carmelo Hayes
It could be that Trick Williams ends up using his heel status from NXT and TNA Wrestling to have a massive main roster feud with Carmelo Hayes instead of reuniting.
Certainly able to be a familiar foe to Hayes, it might be the perfect time for the pair to launch a big storyline against one another in order to capture attention to both talent.
Possibly leading to a reunion in the future — after some kind of brutal battle like Rusev & Sheamus’ Donnybrook match at WWE Clash in Paris — their initial encounters could be squarely unfriendly.
With Williams able to take aim at Melo for having ‘taken his spot’ by moving up to the main roster first, Hayes could find himself a sympathetic babyface in the feud.

3. Join Judgment Day
Of all of the factions that Trick Williams could join on the main roster, it could be most interesting to see him recruited to the Judgment Day.
With Dominik Mysterio looking to protect his own self interests at any cost, perhaps he will need to look for some additional muscle to add to the squad.
Positioned as someone that Mysterio was attempting to get to join — it would end up being an enjoyable backstage set of segments that could also include fun in-ring action.
Inevitably declining the opportunity, Trick Williams will have been launched onto WWE Raw and kept his touch of cool from NXT in the process.

2. Join Nia Jax & Lash Legend
A potentially unlikely move for Trick Williams’ call up that could end up being complete magic would be to unite him a powerful female tag team on SmackDown.
With the growing number of mixed tag teams in WWE across brands including AJ Lee & CM Punk, Chelsea Green & Ethan Page and Rhea Ripley & Damian Priest — Trick Williams could find allies on SmackDown.
With his real-life fiancée Lash Legend already taking SmackDown by storm along with tag team partner Nia Jax, adding Williams’ muscle to the group could set the stage for some fun moments.
Kicking off a potential feud with the Secret Hervice & Ethan Page or even tangling with the Wyatt Sicks in the future — there could be some very fun storylines that evolve from the partnership.

1. Challenge Cody Rhodes
In perhaps the most powerful play that Trick Williams could make on his impending arrival to the main roster — challenging Cody Rhodes.
Off the back of NXT Champion Oba Femi making his fearlessness regarding Rhodes clear in their in-ring interaction ahead of Saturday Night’s Main Event, perhaps Williams could be looking to do the same.
Easily able to end in the same fashion as the bout at John Cena’s last WWE show — with Drew McIntyre interrupting the match and ending up in a fracas with both Rhodes but also standing face-to-face with a new star from NXT — the move could signal an amazing new wave of NXT stars on the horizon.
Unafraid to step up to the best immediately, it would make total sense to see Trick Williams challenge Rhodes right away — since Carmelo Hayes did the same thing when he was drafted in the first round to WWE SmackDown at the WWE Draft 2024.
