At WWE Sunday Night’s Main Event, Trick Williams defeated Baron Corbin to win the United States Championship.
This marked Trick’s second reign with the gold, but it did not mean this feud was over.
Since then, Corbin has attacked Williams and his manager Lil Yachty to set the stage for a Steel Cage rematch on the September 25 episode of Friday Night SmackDown.
Here are some potential outcomes for the Trick Williams vs. Baron Corbin WWE United States Championship Steel Cage Match.
Trick Williams retains the WWE United States Championship
After winning back the United States Championship, it does not seem like Trick Williams will be willing to give up without a fight.
On the September 18 edition of Friday Night SmackDown, Williams defeated Rey Fenix and Randy Orton to qualify for the Men’s Money In The Bank Ladder Match.
Heading into this important bout on October 10, Trick cannot afford a loss.
This should lead to Trick Williams finally putting his feud with Baron Corbin to bed once and for all inside the Steel Cage.
Baron Corbin becomes a three-time United States Champion
Baron Corbin has never been a stranger to championship gold in his career.
In his first official match back in WWE after two years, Corbin beat Trick Williams to win the United States Championship at SummerSlam 2026.
“The Lone Wolf” has made a reputation raining on others’ parade and could put a stop to Trick’s momentum once again.
With Williams set for the Men’s Money In The Bank, Corbin could capture the US Title for a third time to have a champion focused on the gold.
Carmelo Hayes makes his return
When Baron Corbin returned to WWE, he not only attacked Trick Williams, but also Carmelo Hayes.
This led to Corbin defeating Hayes to retain the United States Championship on the August 14 SmackDown.
Since this loss, fans have not seen Melo appear on the blue brand in weeks.
With this Steel Cage Match on the September 25 SmackDown, this could see Carmelo Hayes make his return and place his name back in the US Title picture.
Lil Yachty costs Trick Williams the title
Ahead of WrestleMania 42, rapper Lil Yachty started to appear in the corner of Trick Williams.
Then at Mania, Yachty stood by Trick’s side when he defeated Sami Zayn to win the WWE United States Championship.
However, Yachty has had to put his body on the line multiple times for Williams, including his in-ring debut against Baron Corbin at WWE Sunday Night’s Main Event.
Whether it be by accident or being fed up taking beatings for his friend, Yachty could be the one to cost Trick Williams the US gold on the September 25 episode of Friday Night SmackDown.
