Seth Rollins hasn’t appeared on WWE TV since unsuccessfully challenging for Roman Reigns’ World Heavyweight Championship at SummerSlam.
The former champion recently made his return on the house show circuit, competing in several matches during the company’s South America Live Tour earlier this month.
While this fuelled speculation about Rollins’ Raw return, the popular star has yet to show up on Monday nights since just loss at the August 1-2 premium live event.
With Seth Rollins recently noting on ESPN Chicago that he has been “focusing on other things” and will come back “when the time is right”, there has been even more speculation about what’s next for the multi-time champion in WWE.
Here are three potential avenues for Seth Rollins following his eventual return.
LA Knight alliance ahead of Money in the Bank
Seth Rollins’ recent house show return saw him team with Solo Sikoa and LA Knight against The Bloodline at non-televised events in Ecuador, Columbia, Argentina and Chile on September 9, 10, 11 and 12 respectively.
With Knight set to challenge for Roman Reigns’ World Heavyweight Championship at Money in the Bank, we could see Seth Rollins return to interfere in this match on October 10.
In reality, you could make arguments for Rollins helping either side, however because of their work together on the live event circuit, it’d be interesting to see the former World Heavyweight Champion align himself with LA Knight.
With Rollins and Reigns’ fist-bump after their match at SummerSlam indicating that their feud was over, we could see Rollins help another star to reach the top of the Raw mountain.
Royce Keys feud
Royce Keys made his WWE Raw return on the August 24 episode, attacking The Usos, LA Knight and Solo Sikoa alongside OTM.
Now known as the 946, Keys, Lucien Price and Bronco Nima have been running roughshod on the red brand ever since, establishing themselves as a dominant force.
With Seth Rollins in need of something to do away from the World Heavyweight Title picture, we could see the Grand Slam winner attempt to take down Keys, Price and Nima.
A series of matches against Seth Rollins could help to elevate Royce Keys, who recently received “massive praise” backstage.
Roman Reigns alliance ahead of Survivor Series WarGames
Picture this, Roman Reigns, The Usos and Jacob Fatu are getting beaten down by the 946 and whoever else has a bone to pick with the Bloodline.
Then… BURN IT DOWN! Seth Rollins runs down and makes the save, fighting attackers off alongside Roman Reigns. Rollins and Reigns fist-bump again, William Regal appears and screams WARGAMES!
Okay, perhaps I got a big carried away at the end, but following their post-match reconciliation at SummerSlam, it’d make sense to see Rollins and Reigns standing side by side once again.
With Reigns previously announced for Survivor Series, Seth Rollins could present himself as a WarGames ally for Reigns, giving the OTC the opportunity to enter to the Shield’s theme, instead of just being trolled by it.
