Who Is It? – 7 Potential Mystery Attackers From AEW Dynamite

Who attacked Jay White?

That is the question on everyone’s mind in the AEW fanbase right now.

Jay White laid claim to MJF’s AEW World Championship on the September 27 AEW Dynamite episode.

At the end of the very same show, he was attacked by a group of mysterious masked men. One of them wearing the MJF devil mask.

Is this AEW’s version of “Who Shot Mr. Burns?”, or is the answer to this question coming sooner than we think?

Obviously, the AEW product is in desperate need of an intriguing storyline and this could be the shot in the arm the company needs.

There are loads of potential attackers and some may come around as way too obvious, while others might shock you.

Some might have very evil intentions and others might just attempt to move ahead of the queue to face MJF.

The first entry, however, can only be described as The Devil himself.

7. MJF

Shockingly MJF has grown into a babyface role more and more as of late.

Since “Better Than You Bay Bay” has taken off as a team, MJF has become a beloved member of the AEW roster.

MJF being the one that actually wears his own devil’s mask could be way too obvious.

However, the AEW World Champion is battling his inner demons every day, and maybe attacking his opponent is just MJF trying to be himself.

Adam Cole is his best friend and MJF does not want to change that, but maybe hiding behind the devil’s mask gives him a sense of security while being evil.

Or…MJF has actually changed and is facing a massive heartbreak when he finds out that…

6. Adam Cole

Adam Cole

…Adam Cole is the actual attacker.

If that happens Cole has some serious questions to take from his brochacho.

We all know that Cole has a very evil side as well and maybe he still wants to be the one to take down MJF eventually.

Potentially, Cole just fears that MJF is not ready for someone like Jay White and therefore he decided to take down White before things get too dangerous.

In addition, Cole would have also lied about his foot injury, another breach of trust between the two.

The third one comes with Cole wearing MJF’s Devil mask.

Why would he do that? Just to put the blame on his friend.

Do not be fooled.

Cole is an evil mastermind and would be able to pull this off just for the title.

Unless Cole and MJF are both screwed at the same time…

5. Roderick Strong & The Kingdom

“ADAM!!!” appears to be the new intro to Roderick Strong’s entrance theme.

This is because Strong is the third wheel in the MJF/Cole bromance.

Strong was always there for Adam Cole.

For years. But as soon as someone else comes along Cole seemingly abandoned the long and deep-running friendship.

In reality, Cole still tries to be there for his friend. He just does not have enough time anymore.

This caused Strong to turn to The Kingdom and it eventually changed Roddy into a whining and complaining man.

By attacking White in MJF’s mask, his intention could be to show Adam Cole that MJF is still evil.

Therefore Adam Cole would step away from MJF and turn towards Roddy and The Kingdom again.

Well, this is how a psychopath thinks I guess. Maybe Roddy should see a doctor instead.

Not just for his neck.

4. Dr. Britt Baker DMD

Speaking of doctors….

What about Dr. Britt Baker DMD?

She is the girlfriend of Adam Cole and not exactly at the peak of her career in AEW right now.

Imagine not being a top player in the women’s division and your boyfriend is constantly hanging out with that MJF dude?

Maybe Roderick Strong is not the one who is hurting the most during the bromance storyline.

Baker’s and Cole’s relationship has been established on TV before so it would not come as a huge surprise if Baker was revealed to be the mysterious attacker.

In an attempt to split MJF and Adam Cole, fueled by anger and hatred against everyone who is just able to walk out there and demand a title shot rather than putting the work in that she does.

3. Bullet Club Gold

The Bang Bang Gang is one of the biggest success stories for AEW this year.

They took AEW TV by storm and are responsible for the best AEW matches every month.

But what if The Gunns and Juice Robinson grew tired of their leader?

Why is Jay White always taking center stage? Why is Jay getting picked to be on New Japan shows and not them?

They rolled out the red carpet for him every time he came back and probably never even got a “Thank you”.

That would be the motivation behind Bullet Club Gold following what has become a Bullet Club template: Get rid of the leader.

Plus, they are a bunch of slimy cowards, so putting the blame on MJF is right up their alley.

2. La Facción Ingobernable

Rush recently signed a new big-time contract with All Elite Wrestling.

Since then fans have been eagerly waiting for the return of RUSH and his stable to AEW television.

When Rush saw yet another guy jumping the line, he may have ordered his team to attack Jay White backstage.

It would be a very fitting move for ‘El Toro Blanco’ to put on a mask and hide his true identity.

Putting the blame on MJF could be an effort to get MJF angry enough to give RUSH a title shot sooner than he would have usually gotten one.

1. Edge

He probably did not see clearly on this day.

Because he wore a mask, you see…?

Edge is highly speculated to possibly be joining AEW very soon.

The WWE Hall of Famer could potentially be inserted into the World Title picture right away.

The ultimate opportunist just saw Jay White and figured that this the perfect chance to strike.

So he did.

The MJF mask would once again serve as a way to antagonize MJF in order to do the big Edge vs MJF at Full Gear.
