Nick Aldis WWE SmackDown Replacement

Share

WWE SmackDown General Manager Nick Aldis

Back in 2023, Nick Aldis was first hired to be the SmackDown General Manager, taking over the show from Adam Pearce.

Since then, Aldis has done well to establish himself as a respected authority figure for the company.

After recently having to deal with another and still being in his in-ring prime, Aldis may decide to try his hand at another role for WWE in the future, which could open the door for someone to step in his place.

Here are six potential Nick Aldis WWE SmackDown replacements.

6. Adam Pearce

WWE Raw General Manager Adam Pearce

Over the course of the past five years, Adam Pearce has become one of the longest tenured authority figures in WWE history.

First running both shows on his own, Pearce showed his ability to balance all the egos on the roster in a diplomatic way.

Since Nick Aldis came on board as the SmackDown GM, Pearce has been focused as the management on Monday Night Raw.

If Aldis needs a logical replacement as General Manager, it would make a ton of sense for Pearce to step in to take a position she once had.

5. Ava

WWE NXT GM Ava

The other authority figure currently running on WWE TV at this time is Ava over on the NXT brand.

The daughter of The Rock was introduced as a manager and in-ring competitor before transitioning to a management role on NXT in 2023.

Since then, Ava has brought her own style and flair to the position by using her maturity and poise to hold things in order on NXT.

In what would be a surprising move, WWE could choose to place the young Ava in the GM role on a show named after her father on SmackDown in the near future.

4. The Miz

WWE's The Miz

Looking at the current WWE roster, there might not be anyone who seems like they have the character who would make for a good authority figure quite like The Miz.

The two-time WWE Grand Slam Champion is one of the most decorated active stars on the roster and someone who has accomplished so much in his career.

With the resume that should impress anyone, it would seem logical for WWE to see Miz’s experience as a strength to become a future authority figure.

The Miz replacing Nick Aldis would play off their own dynamic with one another since the former NWA Worlds Heavyweight Champion took over SmackDown several years ago.

3. Chelsea Green

Another WWE star who has an interesting dynamic with SmackDown GM Nick Aldis is Chelsea Green.

Often a thorn in the side of the SmackDown GM, Green has interacted with Aldis probably more than anyone on the roster.

The current WWE Women’s United States Champion easily has the personality that would be fitting in the position of being an authority figure.

Green becoming SmackDown GM could set up some intriguing dynamics moving forward with so many stars on the WWE roster.

2. Paige

Former WWE star Paige, now AEW star Saraya

Back in March 2025, Saraya announced her departure from All Elite Wrestling, ending her three-year run with the promotion.

Now that she is a free agent, Saraya has made it clear that she is open to making her return to WWE and becoming Paige once more.

Paige was once the SmackDown General Manager after announcing her retirement from in-ring competition in 2019.

With a potential return on the horizon in 2026, Paige is someone with the in-ring and authority resume that should make her a perfect replacement for Nick Aldis on the blue brand.

1. Kevin Owens

WWE star Kevin Owens

Ahead of WrestleMania 41, Kevin Owens was pulled from his scheduled match against Randy Orton due to a serious neck injury.

Requiring surgery to repair the damage to his neck, Owens was scheduled to be out of action for well over a year.

Despite not being able to step back in the squared circle to fight, Owens has proven himself to be more than capable of entertaining as a character and on the microphone more than most on the WWE roster today.

KO returning and becoming SmackDown GM would be a wonderful surprise that could utilize his given abilities to provide a different take on the role that fans have not seen in the past.
