On the September 11 episode of Friday Night SmackDown, Chelsea Green defeated Nia Jax to retain the Interim WWE Women’s Championship.
After picking up her first successful title defense, it should be interesting who will step up next for Green.
From former champions to up-and-coming talent, Green could have a tough test ahead in her second defense.
Here are our six potential next WWE Women’s Championship challengers for Chelsea Green.
Lash Legend
With Nia Jax getting her opportunity, her Irresistible Forces tag team partner might be next up.
Since arriving on the WWE main roster, Lash Legend has been a threat in the singles and tag team divisions.
Considering her size and power, Legend feels like someone who will one day become a world champion.
After watching Jax come up short, Legend might step in to challenge Chelsea Green next.
Jade Cargill
Heading into 2026, Jade Cargill was the reigning WWE Women’s Champion.
However, Rhea Ripley went on to defeat Cargill to become the new WWE Women’s Champion at WrestleMania 42.
Since then, Cargill has been embroiled in a feud with Charlotte Flair that has spanned months.
Once she is done with Flair, Jade Cargill could get her rematch against Chelsea Green for the WWE Women’s Championship sooner rather than later.
Charlotte Flair
Charlotte Flair has been on the quest to regain the WWE Women’s Championship since returning last year.
Despite having a few opportunities, Flair has been unable to capture the gold as of yet.
“The Queen” is still the most decorated star in the WWE women’s division today.
It might be time for Flair to get yet another crack at the WWE Women’s Championship against Chelsea Green down the line.
Alexa Bliss
Speaking of Charlotte Flair, her tag team partner and best friend is Alexa Bliss.
Over the past year, Bliss has been focused on tag team competition alongside Flair.
However, it feels like about time for Alexa Bliss to step back into the singles scene in a meaningful way.
The five-time WWE Women’s Champion challenge Chelsea Green might prove to be the toughest test for the Interim titleholder.
Jacy Jayne
Ever since they arrived on the WWE main roster, Fatal Influence has been taking Friday Night SmackDown by storm.
Most recently, Jacy Jayne defeated Tiffany Stratton to win the WWE Women’s United States Championship.
The Fatal Influence leader made it clear on day one on SmackDown that she had her sights on the top prize in the women’s division.
Jayne challenging Chelsea Green next would be interesting and make for a compelling title vs. title showdown.
Tiffany Stratton
Over the past few months, Chelsea Green has developed a friendship with Tiffany Stratton.
However, this friendship has not worked out in Stratton’s favor, losing the WWE Women’s United States Championship and going on a lengthy losing streak.
Using this relationship to get back to the top, Stratton could ask Green for a favor and a title shot.
Stratton turning on Chelsea Green would be an intriguing way to progress this story and deliver a high profile WWE Women’s Championship bout.
