At a recent WWE NXT live event, Elio LeFleur suffered a serious shoulder injury that pulled him from the NXT Tag Team Championship number one contenders tournament.
Then on the March 31 edition of WWE NXT, it was confirmed that LeFleur will be out for six months and will be forced to relinquish the WWE Speed Championship.
Now that the title has been vacated, there could be any number of NXT talents who will step up to become the next Speed Champion.
Here are seven potential new WWE Speed Champions after title vacated.
7. Jasper Troy
On the November 11, 2025 episode of WWE NXT, Jasper Troy defeated El Grande Americano to win the WWE Speed Championship.
Officially bringing the title to the NXT brand, Troy proudly defended the gold against anyone who could fight their way through the tournament qualifiers that the title was built on.
Troy’s 105-day reign ended in a triple threat match where Elio LeFleur captured the championship that also included Eli Knight.
With the title now being vacated, it may be time for Troy to get himself back into contention to become a two-time WWE Speed Champion.
6. Josh Briggs
Over the past few weeks, Josh Briggs has been trying to make a statement and get himself thrusted back into the spotlight.
While Briggs has been on the NXT brand for the past five years, he has yet to win a singles title despite being a former NXT UK Tag Team Champion.
Despite his size and versatility, Briggs has become desperate to become a champion of his own merit.
After making his mark on the March 31 episode of NXT with an attack on Jasper Troy and Keanu Carver, Briggs could set his sights on the WWE Speed Championship to finally become a champion.
5. Eli Knight
On the March 31 edition of WWE NXT, Elio LeFleur announced that he was forced to vacate the WWE Speed Championship.
Upon his announcement, LeFleur told his tag team partner Eli Knight that he wants him to enter the WWE Speed Championship tournament to crown the new champion.
Knight has all the ability to become the next titleholder with his speed, agility and athleticism that makes him a must-watch talent on the WWE NXT brand.
Having the motivation of wanting to win the gold for his friend, Knight may have what it takes to capture the gold for LeFleur.

4. Charlie Dempsey
Charlie Dempsey recently turned his back on his No Quarter Catch Crew past when he turned on Tavion Heights to join the Birthright faction.
Wanting to stand by his fellow second-generation stars, Dempsey has showcased why he has that ruthlessness that his father William Regal has become known for.
With Birthright looking to bring gold to their unit, it makes sense for Dempsey to want to be part of this upcoming WWE Speed Championship tournament.
Considering his past as a former two-time Heritage Cup holder, Dempsey may be the most capable from Birthright to bring the WWE Speed Title to their faction.
3. Shiloh Hill
Since winning WWE LFG season two, Shiloh Hill has been making a name for himself on the NXT brand.
With his crazed enthusiasm, Hill has turned heads and garnered the attention of not only the audience, but also his fellow NXT stars.
Recently, Hill displayed how quickly he can wipe through a group of stars with his performance in the NXT North American Championship number one contenders Eliminator Gauntlet on the March 24 episode of WWE NXT.
Now that the Speed Championship Tournament is in play, Hill could change his motivations to winning his first title in NXT.

2. Jackson Drake
In May 2025, Jackson Drake made history by becoming the first ever WWE Evolve Men’s Champion.
For nearly a year, Drake held the title and had The Vanity Project sitting at the top of the entire Evolve brand.
At the start of 2026, Drake and The Vanity Project signed with WWE NXT. Then on the March 18 edition of WWE Evolve, Drake dropped the Evolve Men’s Championship to Aaron Rourke.
Drake might not want to be without gold for long and could easily change his direction for the WWE Speed Title now that the gold has been vacated.
1. Keanu Carver
Ever since making his debut on WWE NXT, Keanu Carver has taken the entire brand by storm through pure force.
With a hard nosed attitude and unbridled rage, Carver has shown no respect for everyone in front of him and overpowered anyone that has gotten in his way.
Considering his recent victories against the likes of Sean Legacy and Jasper Troy, Carver should be in contention to win some gold sooner rather than later.
Carver has the size, strength and intensity that make him someone who would fit in well as potentially the next WWE Speed Champion.
