New WWE SmackDown General Manager

Nick Aldis made his WWE debut in 2023 and immediately became the new SmackDown General Manager.

Over the course of the past two years, Aldis has proven himself to be a capable and efficient authority figure that commands respect and control.

With Aldis being an in-ring competitor at one point, WWE could choose to allow him to lace up his boots again and replace him with a new GM for the blue brand.

Here are eight potential new WWE SmackDown General Managers.

8. Adam Pearce

WWE Raw GM Adam Pearce

Prior to Nick Aldis arriving in WWE as the SmackDown General Manager, Adam Pearce was running things throughout the entire main roster on both brands.

Pearce is among the longest tenured authority figures in WWE history with a run that has spanned the past five years.

Considered by many to be the most reliable person in the role, Pearce could remain in this position for even longer in the future.

If Nick Aldis decides to get back in the ring, it could be Pearce who takes his role and has control over both Raw and SmackDown.

7. Ava

Another WWE star who assumed the position of General Manager back in 2023 is Ava.

The daughter of The Rock started her WWE run as an in-ring competitor and manager, but she soon found herself finding her footing as an authority figure.

Ava has everything it takes to shine in this position for years to come considering her age of 24 years old.

In what will be a full circle moment with her father being responsible for the name of the show, Ava taking the mantle of WWE SmackDown General Manager would feel quite appropriate in many ways.

6. Ron “R-Truth” Killings

R Truth/Ron Killings, WWE

Back in June, Ron “R-Truth” Killings was let go from WWE after his contract expired, which led to some vocal fan backlash.

Then at WWE Money In The Bank 2025, R-Truth made his return just one week after his departure to the shock of the fans.

Since then, Truth has not played a major role on the week-to-week WWE programming as much as some would like.

With his role as an elderly statesman, it would make a ton of sense for Truth to become the SmackDown General Manager where his hilarious and likeable personality could be fitting.

5. Alexa Bliss

At WWE SummerSlam 2025 Night One, Alexa Bliss and Charlotte Flair defeated The Judgment Day’s Roxanne Perez and Raquel Rodriguez to win the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championships.

Bliss and Flair have been firmly cemented as a duo since then and continue to successfully defend their titles against any challengers.

Back in 2018, WWE teased Bliss as an authority figure when she was appointed the overseer of the entire Raw women’s division by then-GM Baron Corbin.

Rewinding back the clock a bit, the company could position Bliss back in this role where she could further have a presence on the SmackDown brand.

4. The Miz

As of late, The Miz has had to deal with helping his tag team partner and protege Carmelo Hayes to win some championship gold.

Feeling as if his best days may be behind him, it feels like The Miz has taken more of an out of the ring role on WWE TV in recent months.

After an illustrious career which includes being a two-time WWE Grand Slam Champion, The Miz could set himself up for after his in-ring career with a new role in the company.

Becoming the new SmackDown General Manager, The Miz would be someone who would greatly benefit from this power and use it to create some intriguing scenarios.

3. Paige

Former WWE star Paige, now AEW star Saraya

Ever since becoming a free agent after leaving All Elite Wrestling, Saraya has made it known that she is open to making a WWE return.

However, fans are still waiting for Saraya to make a return to her Paige moniker under the WWE banner.

The former WWE Divas Champion is considered by many to be a pioneer for the Women’s Revolution and could come back to a position of power once again.

Following a stint in the role back in 2018, Paige could come back to replace Nick Aldis as the new WWE SmackDown General Manager sometime soon.

2. Mickie James

In 2025, Mickie James made her return to WWE TV, but in a much different capacity than some fans might have hoped.

Becoming a coach on the WWE LFG show on A&E, James showcased that she has a lot to give to the industry whether it be through mentoring, coaching or stepping in the ring herself.

The six-time WWE Women’s Champion is a living legend and someone who could play a number of different roles on the company’s programming.

Mickie replacing her husband Nick Aldis as the new WWE SmackDown General Manager would be a logical line of succession to this prestigious and important role.

John Cena is winding down his retirement tour in 2025 with just five dates remaining on his schedule following WWE Wrestlepalooza.

The record-breaking 17-time WWE World Champion recently turned babyface and is receiving all the love from the fans as he prepares to hang up his jorts for good.

After finishing his legendary career in December, Cena might finally move into a different role outside of the squared circle for WWE.

Cena becoming the new WWE SmackDown General Manager could see him enhance the product with his speaking ability and help other stars to get over in the same way he has in the past.
