The December 13 WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event will feature an entire card of WWE talent battling NXT stars; a showcase for the future of the company on John Cena’s final appearance for the company.
With that in mind, fans could see some integration between the main roster and NXT in different ways at the show, including some pairings between two brands.
Whether it be someone from Raw, SmackDown or NXT, these new partnerships could be even more long term with two stars finding success alongside one another heading into 2026.
Here are seven potentially new WWE and NXT tag team partners.
7. Trick-Melo Gang (Carmelo Hayes & Trick Williams)
In 2021, Trick Williams was introduced as the best friend and confidant of rising star Carmelo Hayes.
Over the next three years, Trick and Melo became one of the most recognizable pairings in NXT history.
The duo would eventually split after Hayes turned on Williams, showcasing some jealousy to his former friend for his own meteoric rise that would eventually see Trick join Melo as a NXT Champion.
After their brief reunion at the NXT Homecoming show in 2025, fans could see a more long term rekindling of this partnership between Trick and Melo when Williams makes his main roster in the future.

6. Rey Fenix & Je’Von Evans
2025 has been another huge year for Je’Von Evans as his career continues to soar to new heights.
Over the course of the past 12 months, “The Young OG” has made his main roster debut and made several appearances on Friday Night SmackDown.
During one of those appearances, Evans teamed with Rey Fenix to pick up a victory over Los Garza.
Combining two of WWE’s most exciting in-ring competitors, Evans and Fenix could take the entire tag team division by storm if they were to become a long term pairing.

5. Jey Uso & Jaida Parker
The past few months has seen Jey Uso undergoing some sort of attitude change as his frustrations with his own failings are just growing in a massive way.
Many fans have taken these incidents to indicate that Uso is on his way to a heel turn somewhere down the line.
Meanwhile, Jaida Parker has become one of the fastest rising stars of the WWE NXT women’s division and has boatloads of charisma that should translate well to the main roster.
Perhaps being introduced as a new heel tandem, Parker could bring out the darker side of Uso’s personality and shows him the edge needed to get back to the top of the company.

4. Stephanie Vaquer & Lola Vice
Signing with WWE in 2024, Stephanie Vaquer initially made her debut on the NXT brand. From the moment she arrived, Vaquer got the attention of the entire women’s division.
While many stars were against “La Primera,” Lola Vice stood by Vaquer’s side and became her closest friend as well as an occasional tag team partner.
Bringing their Latina fire, Vaquer and Vice made for an impressive pairing that could be explored even further on the WWE main roster.
With Vaquer currently on Raw as the WWE Women’s World Champion, she could eventually be joined by Lola Vice to add a new dynamic to the women’s tag team division in 2026.

3. AJ Styles & Jordynne Grace
In February 2025, Jordynne Grace made her official WWE debut by making her way to NXT where she has become one of the top stars of the women’s division.
Following her successful run in TNA Wrestling as a former three-time Knockouts World Champion, “The Juggernaut” is trying to replicate the legacy she left behind in that company now in WWE NXT.
Someone who knows all about that goal is AJ Styles, who is universally recognized as one of the greatest stars in TNA Wrestling history.
Pairing two TNA greats, Styles could become the new partner for Grace upon her WWE main roster call up and put these together as the two companies’ partnership grows.

2. Rhea Ripley & ZARIA
In 2024, ZARIA came into WWE NXT as a highly touted free agent from Australia.
Years prior, another upstart from Australia made her way to the company and quickly became a can’t miss prospect and her name was Rhea Ripley.
Now all these years later, Ripley is one of the biggest stars in pro wrestling today and a multi-time WWE Women’s World Champion.
Proving to be a mentor of sorts, Ripley could give ZARIA guidance and provide her with a new tag team partner following her recent issues with best friend Sol Ruca on WWE NXT.

1. Cody Rhodes & Ricky Saints
It is no secret that Cody Rhodes and Ricky Saints are good friends outside of the ring, stemming from their time together in All Elite Wrestling.
In February 2025, Saints shocked the world when he left AEW and signed with WWE just a few days later.
Now currently holding the NXT Championship, Saints has cemented himself as a future bonafide star for WWE that could be launched to the next level if he brings his real life friendship with the current Undisputed WWE Champion to the forefront.
Saints getting called up to the main roster to align with Rhodes would be interesting to watch, with the pair developing a mentor-protege relationship that could lead to some intense battles down the line.
