With more WWE Hall of Fame class of 2026 inductees sure to be announced in the coming weeks and months, there could be some legendary tag teams joining the ranks.

Since Stephanie McMahon is the only inductee confirmed thus far, it would be surprising if a legendary tag team was not among this year’s class, especially given how many standout candidates there are.

Here are six new tag teams that could be inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame Class of 2026.

6. New Age Outlaws

WWE legends Billy Gunn and Road Dogg

With their induction perhaps able to be tied into the marketing for the special Attitude Era Edition release of WWE 2K26, the New Age Outlaws could be a perfect tag team to join the 2026 class.

Already being inducted in the WWE Hall of Fame in 2019 as members of D-Generation X, there is certainly a case to be made for why the pair could be honored as inductees in their own right.

Although they may have been only active as a tag team in WWE between 1997 and 2000 (including a brief split in 1999), the duo of Billy Gunn and Road Dogg Jesse James were formative figures in the Attitude Era. With a fan favorite entrance and of course signature catchphrase, the duo brought a lot of light hearted fun to the era.

While the duo continued to team in TNA Wrestling in the 2000s after departing WWE, they would cap off their tag team careers with a return to WWE action between 2012-2014, where they won their sixth WWE Tag Team Championships. The main stumbling block for a potential induction will of course be Billy Gunn’s AEW contractual status, so a deal would need to be worked out between the two companies if this one is to happen.

5. The APA

While inducted separately into the WWE Hall of Fame, the legendary duo of John Bradshaw Layfield and Ron Simmons are certainly deserving of a joint induction as The APA.

A fixture of the Attitude Era, The APA (Acolytes Protection Agency) were one of the most entertaining duos of the time, always providing plenty of backstage hijinks originating from their ‘office’.

Capturing WWE Tag Team gold three-times as a duo, their work together was not only wildly entertaining outside of the ring as well as excellent in the ring.

A beloved comedic pairing that still evokes a positive fan reception when they appear on-screen, The APA might be the perfect addition to this year’s Hall of Fame class.

4. The Midnight Express

A tag team that professional wrestling fans often cite as a notable exclusion from the WWE Hall of Fame are The Midnight Express.

However, historians are quick to point out that the Midnight Express duo of Dennis Condrey (Stan Lane would later replace him) and Bobby Eaton with manager Jim Cornette didn’t actually compete in the WWF or WWE.

While The Midnight Express made their name elsewhere in professional wrestling including the NWA and WCW, it would later be Jim Cornette as a manager for Bob Holly and Bart Gunn in WWE in 1998 in an attempt at making a ‘New Midnight Express’ that came to WWE.

Potentially coming about as an addition to the WWE Hall of Fame Class of 2026, the legendary duo could still get the nod for their contributions to the industry as many others have in teh past despite not competing in WWE primarily.

3. Nasty Boys

WWE and WCW legends The Nasty Boys

A pair of dastardly heels that made mark on the industry including a spell in WWE are The Nasty Boys, Brian Knobbs and Jerry Sags.

Coming along with their tenacious manager Jimmy Hart, the pair achieved fast success, winning the WWE Tag Team Championship at WrestleMania 7 after only a few months in the company.

Picking up the major win from The Hart Foundation, the pair would go on to hold the titles for 155 days in 1991. They would later go on to be 3x WCW Tag Team Champions after leaving WWE in 1993.

Able to potentially be inducted by the “Mouth of the South” Jimmy Hart himself, the Nasty Boys would be a solid tag team addition to the WWE Hall of Fame class of 2026.

2. Demolition

WWE legends Demolition

A pair of WWE legends that some fans thought may never become affiliated with the company again are  Ax (Bill Eadie) and Smash (Barry Darsow).

After litigation brought by the pair against WWE in the past seemingly ruled them out of return, in 2025 there was an intriguing development.

Ahead of WrestleMania 42, it was confirmed that the formative tag team had signed legends deals with WWE.

With Demolition holding the record for the longest single WWE Tag Team Championship reign all the way until The New Day broke it in 2016, it could be a fun moment to see the current dastardly heels get some comeuppance from Ax & Smash.

1. The Mega Powers

With the iconic duo of Randy Savage and Hulk Hogan still standing as one of the most notable dream pairings in WWE history, it could be time for their tag team specifically to join the WWE Hall of Fame Class of 2026.

While separately inducted for their legendary singles careers, the alliance is still remembered fondly enough for its own induction.

Although their partnership was relatively short-lived, lasting between November 1987 and February 1989, their impact is till being felt today – with the collapse of their team standing as one of WWE’s best storylines in the early years of WrestleMania.

Demonstrating that top talent in WWE could align to become even more powerful, honoring The Mega Powers in 2026 could be the perfect way to pay tribute to Hulk Hogan who sadly passed away in July 2025 at the age of 71.
