More WWE Stars To Work In AAA

Since acquiring Lucha Libre AAA, WWE has sent several different stars over to the promotion.

From Penta and Rey Fenix to El Grande Americano, Dominik Mysterio and Bayley, these stars have become some of the biggest names in the Mexican promotion over the past year.

There are plenty of others on the WWE roster that could arrive in Mexico to work in AAA moving forward.

Here are seven more WWE stars to potentially work in AAA.

7. Alpha Academy (Otis & Akira Tozawa)

Alpha Academy is a duo that has been together for a number of years and always seem to get over no matter what they are doing.

While they are popular among the fans, Otis and Akira Tozawa are not always consistently featured on WWE TV.

On Monday Night Raw, Alpha Academy have not been highlighted in quite some time and may need to find another home to get some shine.

Alpha Academy heading to Lucha Libre AAA would be fitting and could see them become top contenders for the tag team gold in the promotion.

6. Nikkita Lyons

Since signing with WWE, Nikkita Lyons has been someone who always stands out on the NXT brand.

After years of not being consistently featured, Lyons has started to appear more on WWE NXT.

This led to a recent report indicating that Lyons could be in line to be called up to the WWE main roster.

Potentially getting some more experience outside of NXT before becoming a star on Monday Night Raw or Friday Night SmackDown, Lyons could become someone who adds a lot to the AAA women’s division.

5. Thea Hail

Looking at the WWE NXT women’s scene, another star who could benefit from some time in AAA is Thea Hail.

Signing with WWE in 2022, Hail was only 18 years old and looked to be someone who could grow under the company’s banner.

From her time with Chase U to now being on her own, Hail still feels like a work in progress that can benefit from time elsewhere.

Hail working in AAA could see her become a star consistently featured and make for a formidable opponent for the brand’s top female talent, such as Flammer and La Catalina.

4. Matt Cardona

Re-signing with WWE in January 2026, Matt Cardona came back to the company and looked to get a fresh start in his old home.

While he came back to the promotion with some momentum, it feels like Cardona has fallen back to a role that he previously had.

The former Zack Ryder doesn’t seem to have a consistent role on WWE television moving forward.

Cardona could be someone who would not look out of place in the main event picture in Lucha Libre AAA, mixing it up with Dominik Mysterio, El Hijo del Vikingo or El Hijo de Dr Wagner Jr.

3. Jordynne Grace

After signing with WWE in 2025, many fans believed Jordynne Grace would be a top star for the women’s division in no time.

‘The Juggernaut’ has an impressive physique and is a skilled in-ring performer that could be a champion on the main roster.

With her unmatched strength, speed and precision inside the squared circle, Grace could become a key player on any brand in WWE, including Lucha Libre AAA.

Grace jumping to AAA would be an interesting move where she could win the Reina de Reinas Championship down the road.

2. Shinsuke Nakamura

Over the past decade, Shinsuke Nakamura has been part of the WWE roster and has played a variety of different roles.

Coming in as a major signing from New Japan Pro Wrestling, Nakamura felt destined to become a world champion.

In recent years, Nakamura has had a less consistent role on WWE TV and feels lower on the totem pole of importance on the roster at this time.

‘The King of Strong Style’ could be a logical veteran to make the jump to Lucha Libre AAA and become one of the more prominent stars on its roster.

1. Ilja Dragunov

To close 2025, Ilja Dragunov lost the United States Championship to Carmelo Hayes.

‘The Mad Dragon’ has since come close to winning back the US Title back, but he now finds himself on the outside looking in.

Widely regarded as one of the best in-ring performers in WWE today, Dragunov deserves to be featured consistently in any brand or promotion.

Heading to Lucha Libre AAA, Dragunov could truly have what it takes to put on some showstealers against any star on their roster and regain his momentum moving forward.
