More WWE Stars To Leave Factions

Factions play a major role in contemporary WWE programming.

Groups like The Judgment Day and Paul Heyman’s stable are among the most prominent and popular acts in the company today.

However, no matter how successful or dominant they may be, factions never last forever — eventually, even the biggest groups go the way of The Shield and fall apart.

WrestleTalk looks at the stars who could be next to walk away from their factions.

Dominik Mysterio

The simmering tension within The Judgment Day continues to build.

It began at WWE WrestleMania 41, when Dominik Mysterio pinned Finn Bálor to win the Intercontinental Title — a loss Bálor has continued to quietly seethe over.

Though positioned as a heel, Mysterio remains hugely popular with WWE’s younger fans, setting the stage for a babyface turn as he breaks away from the faction.

This feud may not explode at SummerSlam, but the question remains: when will it finally boil over with Mysterio stepping away from the Judgement Day?

Liv Morgan

On the subject of stars leaving The Judgment Day, Liv Morgan could be next.

It seems likely she’ll return as a babyface once she recovers from her recent shoulder injury.

Whether she leaves the faction alongside storyline partner Dominik Mysterio remains to be seen, but an upcoming feud with Roxanne Perez — who’s taken her place in the group and as Women’s Tag Team Champion — seems inevitable.

All signs point to Morgan being finished as a member of The Judgment Day upon her return to WWE programming.

Tavion Heights

It appears that the NXT No Quarter Catch Crew is officially dead.

For weeks, Tavion Heights has expressed his desire to leave the faction — a move leader Charlie Dempsey repeatedly blocked.

On the 29 July edition of NXT, Heights finally secured his release, defeating Dempsey with a huge belly-to-belly suplex.

Now free of the group, the question becomes what’s next for the supremely talented former Olympic Greco-Roman wrestler — a WWE main roster call-up?

Rey Mysterio

Leader of the LWO faction, Rey Mysterio suffered a groin injury the night before WrestleMania 41, forcing him off the card.

In the interim, WWE is in the continuing process of purchasing Mexican promotion AAA.

This is the company where Mysterio first made his name and rose to prominence in the wrestling world in the early 1990s.

Given that history, we could see him transitioned into the AAA brand upon his return — potentially ending his on-screen role as LWO leader.

Otis

WWE star Otis

Alpha Academy’s Otis has been absent from WWE programming since May, following an injury sustained in a bout with Rusev.

In his absence, little has been done with his faction partners — Akira Tozawa appears only on c-level show Main Event, while Maxxine Dupri has mostly featured in backstage skits on Raw with Natalya.

Otis’ return could see him moved away from the group and repackaged — stripped of his comedy, he could be a convincing bruising heel heavyweight, perhaps even aligning with former opponent Rusev.

Otis leaving the faction could quietly mark the end of Alpha Academy altogether.

Bron Breaker

Few should doubt Paul Heyman’s recent claim that Bron Breakker is destined to headline WWE WrestleManias for years to come — especially after his domination of Roman Reigns on 28 July edition of Raw.

But he won’t reach that level while still part of Seth Rollins’ faction, where he’s bound to remain in a supporting role.

An eventual split from the group feels inevitable, with a feud between Breakker and Rollins likely already on the near horizon.

Could this be the match to headline one of the WrestleManias that Heyman hinted at?
