At this Sunday’s WWE Clash in Paris Premium Live Event, John Cena is set to face Logan Paul.
With his retirement scheduled for December 13 at WWE’s Saturday Night’s Main Event, Cena doesn’t have many opponents left before hanging up his boots.
But who will they be? Here are five potential opponents for John Cena after WWE Clash in Paris.
5. Randy Orton

John Cena has already faced Randy Orton once on his retirement road tour, at WWE Backlash in May.
The bout, however, took place in a strange bizarro world where Cena was the heel and Orton the beloved babyface.
This was, of course, the exact opposite of their decades long career rivalry.
Now, with seeds being planted for an Orton heel turn and the universe returning to normal—Cena as the beloved babyface and Orton as the hated heel—it could open the door for one final showdown between the pair.

4. Dominik Mysterio

John Cena appears to be spending his final run on the brand where his career first took off in the early 2000s: SmackDown.
However, it’s also likely we’ll see him return to Raw before his final curtain call in December.
On WWE’s red brand, a probable opponent could be Dominik Mysterio, who has caught lightning in a bottle in 2025 — embraced wildly by fans despite being a despicable heel.
Getting “the rub” from Cena could help elevate Mysterio even further within the company.

3. Bron Breakker

Few doubt that WWE sees Bron Breakker as their next top babyface—a replacement for Cody Rhodes waiting in the wings.
One way to further cement Breakker as a surefire main-event star is to have him defeat one of WWE’s most iconic figures of the 21st century: John Cena.
A victory over Cena could mark a defining moment in Breakker’s rise to top-tier babyface status.
It wouldn’t be a surprise if this match ends up being Cena’s final bout at Saturday Night’s Main Event on 13 December.

2. AJ Styles

There is a strong case to be made that AJ Styles is John Cena’s greatest opponent—someone who brought the best out of him and took him to a new level in-ring.
The in-ring rivalry between the pair across 2016–2017 forced fans to reevaluate Cena’s wrestling ability.
For years, his bouts had been haunted by chants of “You can’t wrestle”—a chant that became obsolete after his performances with Styles.
Given how important Styles was to Cena’s career, we could very well see one more final match, perhaps on WWE television, before the curtain closes in December.

1. Brock Lesnar

In the main event of SummerSlam Night Two, John Cena delivered his best in-ring performance in many years against Cody Rhodes; following the bout’s conclusion, he was attacked by the returning Brock Lesnar.
That angle clearly set up a future bout between the pair.
Their upcoming match will not only reignite the rivalry that began back in 2005, but also mark Lesnar’s first WWE match since being named in Janel Grant’s lawsuit against Vince McMahon and WWE.
While not yet officially announced the bout is reportedly scheduled to take place on 20 September at Wrestlepalooza.
