Heel WWE Stars To Turn Babyface Soon

Share

WWE star John Cena

Few things in WWE and pro-wrestling are guaranteed to generate a huge reaction from the crowd more than a heel finally embracing morality to become a babyface.

Babyface turns of the past have seen unforgettable moments in WWE history — think “Macho Man” Randy Savage reuniting with Miss Elizabeth at WrestleMania VII, Batista turning on Triple H in 2005.

There are seeds currently being planted on WWE programming for heels to embrace their inner goodness.

Here are six stars we could soon see become babyfaces.

6. John Cena

WWE Champion John Cena

Few could argue they weren’t shocked when John Cena finally turned heel on Cody Rhodes at WWE’s Elimination Chamber in February.

It was a turn that fans had been wanting for over two decades — and one that saw Cena claim the Undisputed Title via underhanded means.

However, this heel run comes with a clear expiry date given that Cena is set to retire in December.

There’s simply no way he ends his career in December as a heel — so the real question is, when does the redemption arc begin?

5. Dominik Mysterio

WWE Intercontinental Champion Dominik Mysterio

One of the most surprising moments from WWE’s WrestleMania 41 was the Las Vegas crowd’s embrace of Dominik Mysterio.

Fans sang his name throughout the Intercontinental Title four-way bout, and his win was widely celebrated by the audience.

Despite still playing the dastardly heel, fan support hasn’t faded – crowds continue to love chanting for him.

A face turn feels inevitable, and it may arrive soon if his simmering tension with stablemate Finn Bálor finally erupts into the open.

4. Drew McIntyre

Drew McIntyre has carved out a firm position in the upper echelons of WWE’s main event scene in recent years.

As the proverbial heel who tells uncomfortable truths, he delivered a standout feud with CM Punk.

He’s someone fans have long wanted to rally behind – supremely talented both in-ring and on the mic.

Currently taking time off to recover from a spate of injuries, a return as a heroic figure to challenge Paul Heyman’s dominant faction on Raw feels like a possible next chapter.

3. Jaida Parker

NXT’s Jaida Parker is quickly emerging as one of WWE’s top female prospects.

The 26-year-old exudes effortless charisma and is improving rapidly in-ring — something she showcased at Stand and Deliver over WrestleMania weekend, more than holding her own in a four-way with the vastly more experienced Giulia, Stephanie Vaquer, and Jordynne Grace.

Most importantly, even as a heel, Parker is massively over with the NXT live crowd.

A babyface turn feels not just inevitable — it feels overdue.

2. Karrion Kross

Since WrestleMania, Karrion Kross has been relentlessly attempting to recreate his WWE persona via social media — clearly striving for a renewed emphasis and relevancy within the company.

It appears to be paying off, with the crowd audibly reacting when he appeared on screen opposite Sami Zayn on the June 9 edition of Raw.

While he’s currently working as a heel and looks set to feud with Zayn, his own plan is clearly to build enough fan support to make himself undeniable.

If it works, a babyface turn could be on the horizon.

1. Gunther

Perhaps the most surprising face turn of all could come from new World Heavyweight Champion Champion Gunther.

Since arriving in WWE, Gunther has played the role of the most old-school of heels – but things may be about to change.

Defeating Jey Uso clean on the June 9 edition of Raw to reclaim the title now seems to set up an inevitable feud with top heel Seth Rollins, who holds the Money in the Bank briefcase.

If Rollins cashes in and snatches the title, it could trigger a turn for Gunther – setting the stage for mouthwatering clashes with Rollins’ allies: Bron Breakker and Bronson Reed.
