WWE Night of Champions 2025 takes place in Saudi Arabia on 28 June, with the finals of the King and Queen of the Ring tournaments and the Undisputed WWE Title match between John Cena and CM Punk already confirmed.

In addition to the official line-up, it’s likely we’ll see some surprises on the show.

Here are five returns that could happen at Night of Champions to set up major matches for the summer months.

5. Lita

WWE legend Lita

With WWE’s all-women’s PLE Evolution set for 13 July, we’re likely going to start seeing the return of former female stars who to perform on the show.

While Nikki Bella made her return on Raw it wouldn’t be surprising to see more women appear at Night of Champions to set up matches.

In the past the crowd in Saudi Arabia have popped massively for WWE’s legends, and few female stars carry more iconic status than Lita.

Potentially attacking a current heel star such as Becky Lynch, Charlotte Flair or Naomi, Lita could lay the groundwork for a big return match on July 13.

4. Trish Stratus

On the subject of legendary WWE women’s stars, few fit the bill more than Trish Stratus.

Stratus has remained relatively active in recent years, already wrestling twice in 2025.

After celebrating her 25th WWE anniversary with a win at Elimination Chamber, it seems inevitable that she’ll return to WWE once more to compete at Evolution in July.

Having previously appeared in Saudi Arabia at Night of Champions in 2023 to defeat Becky Lynch, could we see Stratus appear again to set up her bout for Evolution?

3. The Hardy Boyz

The Hardy Boyz are without doubt one of the most iconic tag teams in WWE history.

Still active and hugely popular in TNA, the legendary duo have already made surprise appearances in NXT this year as part of the WWE–TNA partnership.

A return to WWE’s main roster feels inevitable, with one final run setting up a well deserved Hall of Fame induction for Matt and Jeff.

As mentioned the Saudi Arabian crowd tend to react big to nostalgic returns, and The Hardys would undoubtedly receive a huge response.

2. Paige (Saraya)

AEW star Saraya

Since leaving AEW earlier this year, speculation has been mounting about Saraya returning to WWE and once again becoming Paige.

Her wrestling in a WWE ring once seemed impossible – but now looks very much on the cards.

If she’s to compete on 13 July at Evolution in what would be a huge moment, she likely needs to return to the company and set up a match.

Night of Champions seems like the biggest stage to make that happen.

1. Goldberg

WWE Hall of Famer Bill Goldberg

Goldberg’s long-rumoured WWE retirement match is reportedly set to take place at Saturday Night’s Main Event on 12 July.

If that’s the case, then the 58-year-old will need to return to WWE programming soon to set things in motion.

While this Monday’s Raw seems likely to be the stage we see the WCW legend return, Night of Champions would be arguably a better option – with two of his last three matches taking place on these big-money shows in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

New World Heavyweight Champion GUNTHER seems set to be his opponent, but if Goldberg does return at the show, we will finally find out who’s both “next” and “last”.
