With WWE Elimination Chamber 2026 just days away, one of the biggest questions heading into the event will be who will earn the right to face Drew McIntyre at WrestleMania 42.
While the field for the Men’s Elimination Chamber is officially set, we could still see some surprises regarding exactly who takes on “The Scottish Warrior” in Las Vegas.
Here are five potential plans for Drew McIntyre to defend the Undisputed WWE Championship at WrestleMania 42.
5. Four-Way Vs. Randy Orton, Cody Rhodes & Jacob Fatu

Since there are plenty of untold stories running throughout the dynamics of the Elimination Chamber match, Randy Orton, Jacob Fatu and Cody Rhodes are determined to win the top title on SmackDown.
With Aleister Black lurking around Orton in an attempt to turn him back into the darkest version of himself, there could be a character shift incoming for “The Viper.”
Potentially finding themselves somehow at a stalemate in terms of an Elimination Chamber winner, if the bout came down to Orton vs. Rhodes, there could be a spectacular interference from McIntyre himself to prevent a concise finish.
With Fatu also being promised a chance at revenge against Drew by SmackDown GM Nick Aldis, there is the potential for plenty of twists and turns on the Road to WrestleMania 42 in Las Vegas.

4. Singles Match vs. Trick Williams

One call-up who has already made a huge impact on WWE SmackDown has been Trick Williams.
With Trick Williams continuing to impress fans with his in-ring skills, mic skills, charm and charisma in media appearances — perhaps a WrestleMania swerve could be ahead.
Pitting a brand new WWE main roster star against the equally commanding presence of Drew McIntyre, a shock win for Williams in the Elimination Chamber could make for an easy segue into a major WrestleMania 42 match.
With Cody Rhodes and Jacob Fatu potentially left to fight out their conflict at WrestleMania 42 instead of challenging for the Undisputed WWE Championship, there could be a fascinating series of events that come about should “Trick Willy” pull off the upset.

3. Three-Way vs. Cody Rhodes and Jacob Fatu

While Jacob Fatu is not in the Elimination Chamber, as mentioned, Nick Aldis has seemingly assured him that he will be getting an opportunity against Drew McIntyre in the future.
Whether it ends up being an added bout to a big show on the Road to WrestleMania or if Aldis has more of a triple-threat in mind, the winner of the Elimination Chamber might be joined by Fatu.
The most logical and arguably interesting bout that could come together for WrestleMania 42 would be if McIntyre ended up having to face both Fatu and Rhodes.
Intertwining several important stories in WWE, the trio could absolutely steal the show on whatever night their main event may land.

2. Singles Match vs. Jey Uso

Drew McIntyre certainly has made no bones about his disdain for The Bloodline, making Jey Uso potentially the most interesting possible Elimination Chamber winner.
Making for a compelling twist to the expected, Jey Uso could find himself in the same position as “The Tribal Chief” Roman Reigns over on Raw.
Potentially looking to main event WrestleMania 42, Uso would have tension with McIntyre but also possibly from within his own circles.
Having to watch his back for enemies and potential friends alike, Uso could find himself slowly descending into a paranoid madness ahead of WrestleMania 42 – something WWE teased many times for Jey in late 2025.

1. Singles Match vs. Cody Rhodes

Drew McIntyre’s Undisputed WWE Title win certainly freshened up his storyline with Cody Rhodes, but it appears perhaps most likely that the company will run the feud back one more time in Las Vegas.
With McIntyre winning the Undisputed WWE Championship in the end due to an interference from Jacob Fatu, this time there may be no gimmicks, stipulations and no possibly no rules – leaving little room for controversy regarding who comes out with the title.
Given not only the stakes but the history between Cody and Drew, it might make total sense for the Undisputed WWE Championship to be decided by a No Holds Barred Match.
With plenty of places to brawl around Allegiant Stadium, it could be that the pair take their rivalry to new heights with a particularly vicious bout at WrestleMania 42 to once and for all determine who is the better of the two.
