CM Punk New WWE Tag Team Partner

WWE star CM Punk

CM Punk’s long-time feud with current WWE Money in the Bank holder Seth Rollins shows no signs of ending any time soon.

At the recent Night of Champions, it was Rollins and his faction’s interference that ultimately cost Punk the Undisputed WWE Title in his match against John Cena.

With Rollins constantly backed up by faction partners Bron Breakker and Bronson Reed, Punk is regularly outnumbered in storyline.

Forming a tag team – even one of convenience – could help even the odds… but if he did, who could step up as his partner? Here are five potential options.

5. LA Knight

SmackDown star LA Knight is another roster member currently engulfed in a rivalry with Seth Rollins.

The two battled over the briefcase at Money in the Bank, which Rollins eventually won – and Knight has been feuding with the faction ever since.

With Rollins and Knight set to clash one-on-one at WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event on July 12, interference from Rollins’ allies appears guaranteed.

Could CM Punk accompany Knight to even the odds – and could this be the start of a new partnership going forward?

4. Roman Reigns

Roman Reigns hasn’t been seen since the Raw after WrestleMania, when he was taken out by Seth Rollins and Bron Breakker on the night the group was formed.

As WWE’s biggest star – and with his image on the official poster – it seems certain Reigns will return for the two-night SummerSlam.

With revenge on Rollins likely the focus, it could naturally push him into a team with CM Punk.

A SummerSlam main event tag match of Punk and Reigns vs. Rollins and Breakker appears to be a distinct possibility.

3. Jey Uso

Jey Uso is another WWE star now seemingly embroiled in a feud with Seth Rollins’ faction.

On the July 7 edition of Raw, Uso faced Bronson Reed – a match that ended in disqualification when Reed attacked him with a chair before delivering two Tsunami splashes.

Uso was possibly taken out of action and will likely be looking for revenge when he returns.

As a result, Uso could form another team of convenience with CM Punk to take on Rollins.

2. Penta

The July 7 edition of WWE Raw was headlined by a standout main event between Seth Rollins and Penta – a bout Rollins won after a crafty low blow to Penta.

Rollins cheating to secure the win gives Penta a clear storyline reason to feel aggrieved, having been denied the biggest victory of his WWE career.

It also opens the door for a potential team of convenience with CM Punk.

A Punk and Penta pairing against Rollins and either Bron Breakker or Bronson Reed offers the promise of a series of outstanding matches.

1. Sami Zayn

CM Punk and Sami Zayn have already teamed once this year – competing at the last Saturday Night’s Main Event in May against Seth Rollins and Bron Breakker.

Like Punk, Zayn has continued to feud with the faction.

On the July 7 edition of WWE Raw, he was demolished by Breakker, taking multiple spears and being ruled out “indefinitely.”

His eventual return could see him reunite with Punk and resume his feud with Breakker.
